i psoted this in the protest forum, but thought i would here as well. i am currently watching this show on tv about meth use and its effects in missouri. i recently moved back to Sd from Mo after finishing school. the town i lived in was on the surface a nice town, surrounded by beautiful country... forests, rivers, caves, mountains, etc. but once you stayed around long enough to notice it, the signs of a real problem were there. drug task force vans out at all times of the day. people strung out and robbing and killing others. bad teeth, hygiene, i mean bad, children living with it. it was bad. i don't know if this is a protest, but i totally protest meth use. it is a drug with no positive purpose, in my opinion. just wanted to see how others felt. __________________
I have seen a few of my friends go down on the stuff. One of my friends was so fucking bad, he broke into my car and stole my stereo system! I did it for a little while, but couldn't find any joy from it. My friends get all proud of themselves, "I haven't done crank, or coke or any of that shit for a few weeks" The whole time I'm thinking, I haven't touched anything other than pot for 8 years.
I lived in Kingman,AZ for awhile and there's more meth there then ya can ever imagine. Almost everyone is so paranoid & crazy its pathetic. If they ain't stealing stuff off you then then are accusing you of stealing from them....
Meth is YUCKY!!! I saw that show last night too. I wish people wouldn't even get mixed up with it. I did when I was in my teens and it nearly destoyed me. Im so glad that I walked away from it. Its bad bad stuff.
I haven't even smoked pot in about 11 years. I never did anything like meth or even coke, I didn't want anything to happen to me.. I like me.
i just watched the beginning of that where it showed that guy who got caught on fire cause he was making meth.. and it bothered me because it was like he wanted sympathy when he shouldnt have been making meth... meth labs=tragedy and doing meth is just beyond dumb imo.... and I was born and lived in MO for a while, what town are you speaking of...
fuck em. I'm sure they have a good idea what they're getting into before they get spun out. I tried it once and never looked back.
[and I was born and lived in MO for a while, what town are you speaking of...[/QUOTE] Hi! I am phatty j's wife, and we lived in Rolla Missouri. The place sucked. Great on the surface. I was happy living there until I came home from work one night, and there were two sherrifs outside in our culdesac with shotguns. That just shot my good perspective on the town to hell. Meth is icky. Stay away from it
Ahhh Rolla, I concur with your statement above... I was in Kirkwood.. Its like its all turning into East St. Louis meth is dirty and people who have meth labs should just be flushed..
Meth is pretty bad, but it's usually pretty misunderstood too. Not that you should feel bad for meth or anything, I'm just saying thinking anything more of coke is ludacris considering they work essentially in the same way, and have the same efffects, same addiction potential. I did meth about a year and a half ago, and I liked it better then coke, I might do it again, or maybe not. Meth doesn't make addicts, addiction is a choice, and not everyone who uses a drug will become an addict. Methamphetamine is very addictive, and I don't reccomend it for anyone. Drug addiction is the worst kind of hell, but half of these problems would go away if the government focused more on treatment then incarceration.
I did it for a slight while maybe 6 or 7 years ago....kept me awake for 3 days in a row a few times. That being said, I never really liked it, just had a friend who always wanted to hang out and was doing it. I always kind of dreaded it, especially because it reminded me of snorting tide detergent...I was happy to get away from it and never looked back. My friend ended getting very paranoid and addicted, I moved away. I'd say its far more damaging than coke, the high is way different and it tears people down far quicker
I gues it's more of a personal experience kinda thing, I've never known anyone who's gotten in really bad with meth, and I've known 3 people who've just lost themselves to coke.
When I did it I was out on the west coast...not nearly as many people seem to do it here in eastern mid america, but tons of people do coke
I used to be a therapist in a psychiatric ward.... and the meth users there had a really tough time. It was hard to watch them keep coming back, and never getting any better. That meth grabs you, from what I've seen. Plus, I have know 4 different people who got into that and ended up really f*cked up! Interestingly, the doctors always commented on how the patients had a worse time quitting smoking cigarettes.
Hah! I wazs just about to make a post about some of the tweekers (meth heads) in my town. Damn phatty j, sounds like we live in the same town; pretty on the outside--rotten on the inside. Here in the Santa cruz (california) mountains meth isn't just an addiction it's a way of life. If you're not in the loop you might as well be a hermit.
