Meta’s New Flat-Panel Laser Display Is Ultra-Thin Already, people have found ways to use ordinary looking glasses to beam holograms into your eyes, and you can buy a monitor with 3D effects, that don't require glasses, but this is what even Samsung and all the rest have been working on, and it appears Meta just threw more money at leap frogging them all. You don't get to become an oligopoly, if you don't play nice with the Pentagon, and they want this particular technology as badly as anyone. Although they call it a display technology, there's no reason it can also be used for computing, and your glasses themselves can switch back and forth, between crunching the numbers and providing the display, within pico seconds. I'd estimate a pair of glasses that could also crunch the numbers optically, would be capable of running perhaps a dozen Star Trek holodecks.
