You know, I seem to think everything is perfectly fine upstairs, yet for some reason they have yet to tell me why I'm locked up in here. I was told that they would let me know when I leave.....

Well, I have a degree in psychology and I know that there is really no such thing as "mild" schizophrenia.

The closest thing to mild schizophrenia would be a schizotypal personality. Are you sure that's not what you have?

A schizotypal person exhibits traits of schizophrenia, but not enough to actually be diagnosed as "schizophrenic."

my brother had this very rare form of szysophrenia, called I believe, temporal lobe szysophrenia? - I'm really jogging my memory here as it was during the mid 80's, but from what I remember, it was very acute (he was in in patient therapy for six months) and unknown at the time. They attributed it to hormonal imabalences in males during their late teens / early 20's. Again, don't quote me on all of this, but this is what I recall. Ultimately it just faded away after several botched experiments on him with the early types of medications they had then (I believe haldol? was one of them). Today he has mild epilepsys as a result of being a guinea pig at the time.

Well, I'm not a doctor, so listen to the doctor, not me. :p

Are you taking any meds, though?

Sorry for asking so many questions, I am just really fascinated with psychology and the mind.

That's not true at all. There are many drugs that can make schizophrenics less delusional and often completely functional. I can name at least a half dozen off the top of my head.

Of course there is no cure for the disease itself, but there are many treatments.
