Would you agree that men are fundamentally responsible for all aggressive behaviour since time can remember, politically, physically or otherwise? Guys - If so how can we defend ourselves? If not then is it an accepted function? Your thoughts..
I've encountered some pretty aggressive women. I have to say "no" rather strongly. We just have to live our lives in a way that isn't so aggressive.
i think it's human nature in response to pressure and too close quarters. we're not meant to be so closely packed together, it does funky things to our heads, men and women both. you ever live in a house with too many women running about? it's horrible. same with men.
http://www.wimp.com/girlbattle/ - Yes I have now. Alright here's the deal Animal behavior, we're ALL ass holes, males/females, tortoises, plants, viruses. Every living thing is an ass hole. So use of violence, agressive behavior, that's across cultures, species, genders. HOWEVER Females commiting rape is very infrequent. VERY infrequent. It kind of goes against the ideas of evolutionary psychology for a female to commit rape. unless there was a wonder male who's genes were worth more than resources made available by a partner, atleast in social animals. So women violent and horrible, yes. Men Violent and horrible, yes.
Did you know with lions, the females actually do more hunting than the males? I wouldn't mind having me a spicy little lioness of my own. Grrrrrrr, baby!
"Behind every good man, there was a good woman" Everyone has the inherent ability of good and bad... and usually out of conditioning and selfishness we choose bad... it doesnt have to be that way, but in our modern society where women want to be paris hilton and men want to be "gangsta", wat more can you expect? So my answer is, it is not men who cause all the problems or women.... just human potential meeting with the wrong conditioning. peace and love
yeah, i'd place a bit less on conditioning, though. some people are just less violent by nature. it's their genetics.
Aggression is due to high levels of testorone & adrenellin. I've seen plenty of violent women in my time (thankfully I've never had to fight any!). History is full of violent femmes. In any case;where do men come from?-their mums : women. It isn't inherently 'masculine' to be violent or aggresive but culturally men are conditioned to appear 'macho'(motorbike gangs etc.)probably because at one time in social history: - men were always marching off to war. I've noticed that 'ignorance & low intelligence' goes hand-in-hand with 'aggression'.Hence why 'physical fitness' tends to appeal more to the lower income brackets-as does 'macho-sports' i.e. boxing. A man can be a man without shaking his fists at anyone he doesn't like. The prisons are full of men who thought that physical violence will get them through their lives. .............anyhow I'm off;there's a Kung-Fu film on the telly now!.......
The concept of group responsibility is flawed. Individuals, not groups, act. If we can say that men are responsible for war and have to atone for it, then we can say: Palestinians are responsible for suicide bombings and have to atone for it. Germans are responsible for WWII and have to atone for it. I could go on, but you get the idea. Assigning responsibility to groups rather than individuals makes punishing groups acceptable. Assigning responsibility to groups is a common technique of oppressors. "The Jews are responsible for the death of Christ." "That colored boy raped a white woman. We need to burn them out of town." "The Jews are responsible for the Versailles treason." The concept of group responsibility leads to bad things.
I think it is bullshit to blame violence on men. Why make this into a gender issue when it's NOT? peace and love
well, and here we have scads of young men with no actual way of using and practicing those things in nature that they're inclined to do. they don't really have outlets for their natural inclinations. we've really feminized our society.
Yes. I agree that males have been the root cause. It's up to US, you, me and your brother to CHANGE that fact. That's what we want this forum to be about. We aim to change the image of the MALE of the species. For the better.
