Funny that the researcher and the editor of the article are both women. But yet, based on Korean eunuchs this is a true statement. Finding that the ages of eunuchs that were castrated as boys lived near to the age of 70 in the Chosun Dynasty. Kings rarely made it past 50 and they definitely did not have their balls cut off. But just the other day I pinched myself getting into the car. As I pulled my scrotum back into place I commented that if I was castrated I'd stop pinching myself there. Her response was if I did that she'd kill me.
How is this news? We domesticated animals a long time ago and have been castrating most of the males since then. We’ve had slavery for longer than that and have been castrating slaves as well. It’s a shame that history is no longer taught. Not to worry. As our societies revert back to more primitive and brutal forms of population control, this knowledge will be relearned due to direct experience.
I’m not buying this narrative. It “might be” medical proven, but I’m keeping the family jewels and live life to the fullest with whatever time I have left.
Applewhite and the seven followers that under went castration was for sexual suppression purposes based on Applewhite's religious beliefs. He was already in his 60's and against sexual relations. Even he and his life long partner, Bonnie Nettles, never had sex. According to his theory sexuality was a powerful force that kept humans in their bodies. Thus they, humans, couldn't evolve to the next level. The mass suicide happened a couple of years later as they believed the comet Hale-Bopp was coming to take then to heaven. The belief was they couldn't get there unless their soul was released from the body so they committed suicide which was totally unrelated to castration and longer life.
