Why don't you try deconstructing the analogy if you believe it's flawed rather than some rash response that the person who made it be beaten physically.

It's difficult to hear out any of the points that you're attempting to make, as a woman that gets around, with responses like that.

 

I would think anyone who's not sexist wouldn't need it deconstructed. The problem with it pretty much stands out like a sore thumb.

What did your therapist do in order to make you open up? "Finding" yourself, implies it had already been there.

 

I think men with hangups about a woman's sexual past are probably sexually inexperienced and insecure with themselves.

At the same time. I knew a girl that had so much anal sex she was considering plastic surgery the retighten herself "back there". I know another girl that would get naked at parties and start bouncing on random guys dicks. That to me is a major turn off.

Well she had genuine concerns and had ask my friend, who was in the plastic surgery business, about it. She said she had A LOT of anal sex. Last I heard she was an amateur porn star.

 

Far more likely she was trying to get the attention of your friend or another male in earshot and is not that dumb

The kind of thing thats works a lot because you guys will just assume shes that ditzy cos she's a chic, even though she's playing you or the guy the whole time. Especially if she is an amateur porn star, would be used to playing guys

 

My therapist said "you must foster a deep abiding acceptance of your sexuality, whatever you choose it to be." It was a healing moment for me.

Choice implies it's not innate.

 

It's about any one of the proported differences between men and women.

 

It may imply that, but that's not necessarily true.

A lot of people believe they "choose" to be of a specific sexual orientation or sexual personality. And that's partly true. For example, a lot of women are attracted to both men and women, but consciously make a decision to only be with women (the reasons are varied and irrelevant to this discussion). So, their sexual orientation is innately (i.e., through no choice or action of their own) bisexual, but they choose to be lesbian. I know a woman who's insanely attracted to other women who chooses to live heterosexually (it's painful to watch, in fact).

So when your therapist said "whatever you choose it to be," that's what s/he meant (I would hope).
