    Green pastures lay innocently ahead
We tumble down the rolling hills in fun
Frolicking wildly, like children we tread
On, find a stump and bang it like a drum.
Hide and seek amidst haystacks and tall grass:
Shelters of field from this forrest's faeries
Whose flowers tend to cloud our synapses
Of these small creatures we must be leary.
The medium I chose: oil on canvas
I call it "Melting Time" (for obvious
    Reasons) circa 1995, place: Paris
Then I pierce it with an elephant's tusk
And call it "Phallus Interuptus" my
    Sunday afternoon dripping reverie.
With you on smooth rocks, our secrecy
I will call it "Lying on his headstone":
Flesh on Granite, place :mourning alone.

    in memory of Jacob
