So how fucked up is your memory from drugs (or not)? Mine's pretty shot...I've seen people with way worse, but I still feel like a retard when I can't for the life of me recall what I did like the day before. It especially sucks at work when my bosses will ask me questions about what I did the day before or something and I'm totally clueless.
Yea. Sometimes, when I am on the phone with a customer, i'll forget their problem as we're talking about it. Or put them on hold and forget.
I haven't been smoking very long, but my memory hasn't really gotten worse ... in fact, it's gotten better in some cases. Though, I don't easily remember what I did the day before. I don't think that really has much to do with stoning though, actually. I had trouble with that BEFORE I started smoking. =P
my memory realy isnt that shot cause i use my brain alot ahaha its more of my out look on life and what is sanity thats shot
I´ve had the same problems, that was the main reason, why I cut down my drug trips to a minimum. But I still have memory problems quite often, esp. when posting on hipforums (I´m from Germany, and sometimes I have very much difficulties remembering the correct vocabulary for the things I want to say...) :& Besides: During the last years, I´ve done intelligence tests under the influence of several drugs. I was quite astonished, because some drugs nearly had no effects. Under pot, I almost couldn´t do math, but tasks about logic or 3-dimensional thinking were much easier than when being sober, so I scored better than ever before. Under LSD, the understanding of words was very difficult, but I had excellent results in math and physics. Under MDMA, learning and reproducing of words or pictures was quite difficult, but reading large texts and answering questions about them was very easy. Under shrooms, logic tests and physics were a desaster, but I had great scores in concentration tests. Does anybody here has comparable experiences? Or am I the only one, that does IQ-test under the influence of drugs?
I'll do it, just tell me where to get a good IQ test on the Internet, and next time I'm stoned, I'll let you know how I do, haha. By the way ... du wohnst in Deutschland?
I have to admit my memory isn't what it used to be when I was just smoking a little pot here and there, but it's not SHOT.
Yep, in the land that (in some respect) is worse than the "land of the not so free" (at least, when it comes to RCs)... I don´t get my IQ tests from the web, so I´m afraid I can´t help you on that topic; but I´ll have a look around - if I find sth. useful, I´ll let you know!
Nein, I'd argue that Germany is not so bad of a place compared to America. At least you guys have Discos. =P We're not "free" here, we're all slaves under Bush and capitalism. That's why we're here on the Hipforums discussing things that are illegal. =P Does anyone know if there have been any major studies about memory and/or brain capacity when under the influence of various psychadelics?
No, but 5 years ago, the university of Hamburg published a really weird study: They asked people in discos to make concentration and memory tests (but when being sober). Then they asked these people, which drugs they normally consume. The result of the study was, that people who consumed XTC regularly scored much worse than people who only consumed alcohol and/or cannabis. Their conclusion was, that MDMA has a bad effect on your brain (much worse than other, so-called "soft" drugs). But from my point of view, they made two fatal general mistakes: First of all, you never can be sure, if the people were really honest, when they talked about their drug (ab)use. Especially when you know, that these people were paid for their participation in the study. The money wasn´t paid in cash, but via bank transaction (after the survey was closed), so the people had to leave their personal data. Would you talk freely about your drug use, when you know, that this data is stored together with your personal data? :$ Second mistake: when people say, they do XTC regularly, you cannot draw the conclusion that they consume MDMA every time. Most of the XTC users don´t know, what´s in the pills they ingest (and a lot of them doesn´t even care...). XTC users had bad results in the tests. But this only proofs, that it isn´t very good for your brain, if you regularly ingest a cocktail of unknown chemicals! Sorry, but I won´t need an expensive study to tell you this!!! :&
my memory is pretty fucked up, i seriously feel like christmas was last week and las summer was last month, and i still dont know where winter went.
I have extreme memory damage due to drugs...its really sad because I can't remember a large part of my life and even after I got clean...which has been for four years(yeehaa to me) I can't remember last week...I mean I can remember big events but little things I have to be reminded about.
