Today I worked on the 1st idea for my photographic task (For those who don't know what I'm talking about, http://www.hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=44576). This is how it turned out. I'm very satisfied, Paolo is an excellent model, plus I like a lot the lighting. The last one in the series is my fav! I made some changes, in order to strengthen the idea of Memory. I thought that the first idea expressed more the concept of abandonment. His lover hasn't just gone, but she left quite a long ago. He lives plunged in sorrow and memories. He's listening to their songs and he's reading a letter she wrote him when they were still together. The cd player and the letter are the traces of her which I focused on to express the concept of memory and remembering. The grain is intentional, cos my teacher ask for it, and I like it! I thank my mom, she gave some great advice for the "scenography", and Paolo, who was soooo patient, plus he's a wonderful and expressive model! I give you the link, cos the images are way too big. Hope they work. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/12308287/ These are two shots from today which I like a lot, but which I rejected. http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/12308884/ http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/12309138/ Enjoy! PRETTY BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *drools* Heh. added one to my faves. Great job! ~Claudia (yup, that be my name! )
those are GREAT photos. Seriously. I wish I had done something so good when I did photography for school.
Jen, I'm sorry they don't work! Taylor, thanks! I'm very lucky, my teacher's really great, she gives me lot of ideas.
i like the lighting.i think the concept of memory could be stronger.if a person was looking at these and didnt know the title of the assignment would the think memory??allso the composition is off a bit, maybee a lower angle, maybee shoot from next to the body going up to the face and pillow insted of shooting down at him.peace
I know, the concept of memory could be stronger...but I racked my brains for two days, trying to think about something better, and didn't succed. I tend to be kinda cryptic, anyway, so I'm satisfied. As for the composition, you're probably right...those are quite banal, except for the last one, which I like a lot. I'll try to take some other shots, thanks for the advice!
i think the idea of memory is very strong...cryptic but very strong...wonderful work. The first one is my favourite as the distance works well, it shows the vulnerability and pain the subject would be feeling from the memories. Roly.xxx
