Hello, all! I recently started meditating. I started meditating for 15 minutes every day. Anyways, as I was sitting completely still and doing the breathing technique I started getting crazy visuals. Different patterns of colors, and spirals. I then wasn't able to feel my body. I felt completely numb, and felt like my eyes were above my head looking down at my body. I didn't want to panic, but I felt like I was having crazy anxiety at the time. I wasn't able to finish my session which i was totally bummed about. Anyways, is this normal? Am I doing something wrong? I literally just started meditating about three or four days ago. The first time was similar, but not that intense. I feel like a different person, and weight off of my shoulders when I'm done meditating. I feel like I can breathe. I enjoy meditating very much, but I can't seem to finish my sessions now. If anybody can put their input in for me, and has an answer for this ill gladly appreciate it! Thank you all for your time! :)

the settling of the body produces major inner changes such as decrease of carbon dioxide, which can take the form of yawning, various settling sensations, and what occurs from forced settled state is unpredictable, but usually some anxiety crawls out, maybe from other inner fear of being still, trapped, or quiet. some people cannot be comfortable in silence, it happens. however, limit your meditation time and do it in a clean, airy environment, too much clutter, even with eyes closed, still makes one feel sluggish. also do not meditate in bed, even sitting up. very important to have a separate meditation area.

I have an anxiety disorder and that feeling of anxiety is totally normal. I have had so many panic attacks whilst meditating with the sweating, rapid heart rate etc. The thing I've found most beneficial is to stay there. I sit, don't fidget, and I just go back to counting my breaths. It passes and when it does, it feels amazing.

Through my experience with meditation, there are thousands of sensations you can find that have never been felt. This is natural, and kind of what makes me keep coming back.

So remember these stages of meditation:
    • Fully Aware
    • Relaxed
    • Deep Relaxation and Comfort
    • Sleep Paralysis (your physical body will be unable to move, but don't worry, this happens to you every night and goes away within in seconds of consciousness.)
    • Astral Projection or Lucid Dreaming

You may experience feelings like being electrocuted or underwater or being "abducted". Lots of people into this culture believe that reports of abduction are truly just out of body experiences

Any thought of wanting to be back into your body will instantaneously take you back.

Feel safe with meditation, it will feel more natural as you get used to it

Congratulations on starting your meditation journey.

The physical experiences are not unusual – you are observing from a different center in your energy field and as such you can experience physical and visual sensations.

When starting meditation you become aware of the subtle energies and can have some amazing experiences, as you progress (typically) you will have less of these experiences as you get more still, and in simple terms move beyond the lower astral levels – so don’t get concerned that you are not meditating as well as used to!
One trap is trying to look for or expect the same experience in subsequent meditates – this is a hindrance – just focus on being still and observing.

With regard to what you see some geometries are specific “landmarks” in the meta physical terrain, other can have specific meanings for yourself – so act with some discrimination when somebody gives you a definition of what you have seen.

So keep sitting down regularly and enjoy - this is your time to recharge and grow. You might want to look for a group to meditate with or somebody to guide – but be careful there are a lot charlatans – keep in mind dogma, ritual, morals have nothing to do with states of consciousness!

    Good luck on your journey
