My question is how can you approximate a 20mg or so dose of a RC such as 2ci or 2ce? If I crush a 20mg prescription pill I have and measure out of much of the RC would the be a good way to approximate it? If not any good idea? The only other thing I could think of would be like if you had 1 gram and devided it into approximately 50 equal doses that would be approximately 20mg a dose, but that if just eyeballing it.

    Thanks!

If you wantt o start playing with RCs I would very strongly suggest a milligram scale. For things like 2c-i that are active in the 20+mg range a cheap ebay scale will work alright and can be had for about 35USD. Once you start getting into DOx you will NEED to invest in a lab grade scale. These are not even too expensive if you shop around (less than 200USD)

This investment will be worth it in the long run I guarantee it.

Don't use a crushed pill as a 'measure' for what you believe 20mg is as the pill most likely has a lot of non-active ingredients and binding agents. You would not like what happened if you ingested 70mg instead of 20 for example.

    a) You have no idea if the vendor actually sent you 1000mg, it could be more, it could be less.

    b) as already stated there will be a lot if inactive binders in a 20mg pressed pill, so dont use that as a measure.

    c) dividing it into 50 equal piles is very reckless and there is no way you will get 50 20mg piles.

If you know how much 2C-I you have for certain you could use liquid measurement.

    GET SOME SCALES!

I got some scales coming from ebay. I found one $30 that will measure up to 20 grams in 0.001 increments. I am just new to the RC stuff and was trying to see if there was a effecient way of measuring them without spending any more money. I see know the only safe way is a scale.

    Thanks!

From e-scales on ebay? I got some 20 x .001 scales from them recently and they wont calibrate and show 10g as 2.9g just be sure they are working properly. Luckily I have access to uni labs so I can use the scales there

Hey morning bell (I love that song)
Do those scales measure to the 1mg?

I want to buy one but I don't know which ones to look for.

They measure to an accuracy of 1 milligram (0.001 g), yes! I'm picking up the one that goes up to 50 grams now, and I'll let you know how it is when it arrives within a week or so!

To find good scales like that, I just typed in "scale, 0.001" since x0.001 means it's accurate within 1 milligram. That's the best I've found so far, unless you want to drop over 600-1000 dollars on some professional lab equipment!

Theyre the same ones I ordered. My set doesnt work properly. If you put the calibration weight on, tare the scales then measure they work OK.

I used to have some that cost $200. If you can afford good scales go for it

Anyone have any more advice on scales?
I really want to get an accurate decent one but 200$?
    That's a lot.
I suppose if there's no other way.....

So it isn't a problem that can't be easily fixed, just more a nuisance? And do I need the weight every time I turn it on? Damnit!!!

^It could just be my pair thats faulty. It needs the 10g weight on it then it goes up by the mg, otherwise it wont even register 1g. Be aware that there will be a bit of variation with cheap scales. Best to measure 100mg and use a liquid measurement

So to get this straight, you ordered the 50 g one, or the 20 g one? The 20 g one looks fancier, haha, but I like having 50 g capacity. Not to beat a dead horse, just wondering...though I guess it doesn't really matter, since I already bid on the 50 g one.

I bought a 50g accura. Works fairly well for the price. I've only been able to measure down to 18mg, I assume this is normal. It usually takes a bit to notice 20mg range and sometimes doesn't even read that there is anything on the scale. So yes, with these they are not good for measuring exact doses. Also not good for DOx's or any other chemical of similar dosage weight. I can't wait untill I have an Acculab.

So if Jimbo wanted something that measured too 1 mg perfectly (for use with CP55940, which needs 1 mg perfection), I need to shell out some real cash, don't I?

You guys think the 20g x 0.001 scales work better? I've seen 2 kinds of those on eBay.
