soooo, I have this fabric. I wanted to make a top for my bed with it (canopy bed). I cut said fabric because I didn't want to use all of it, just some of it (about 3/4 of what I had). except I can't cut straight, as I've discovered then, without checking, I did a quick hem, long stitch lengths and all that. Now I'm trying to fold it over once more and make it straight, but, um, yeah. it hates me. Goddammit I should only do stuf I don't know how to do when someone else is around that I can at least ask for advice, isntead of mucking around like a fucking idiot
what fabric is it? you'd be amazed what you can get away with tearing... I can't cut straight either...
some sort of synthetic. Looks like taffeta but doesn't behave half as nice. I tried tearing, but it doesn't tear along that axis, just along the other one
i have one of those handi-stiches from the infomercials. you want it? dont ask why i have it. its still in the box. its impossible to put together, comes in a million pieces.
put it all together with needles before you start cuting (make like 150:4) and as its all stuck there.. measure the lenght mark it on the fabric (i do point the main points like both side of the material i have on the floor) and then i cut it.. and its all straight and stuff..
yeah, I ended up taking out all the stitching I had done on that side and tryign to cut it straight again, using weights on the table after folding it in half (hey very wide fabric mmkay), and a measuring tape as a straight edge, a stick of chalk to mark it since i lost my chalk pencil type thinger designed for fabrics. it wasn't perfectly straight, but it became straight when I hemmed it, fortunately.
i have one of those pieces of shit, its crap, it broke within the first few seconds i used it...i fixed it (took me forever) and then tried to use it again and it fucked it all up and jammed up and started to act crazy...
i understand that though cause it took me 3 and a half hours to figure it out, i read the shitty directions 11 plus times...and ended up with a circle piece that i have no idea where it goes...but it is really crappy, they make it look so fun on the commercials...
haha, well im what you call a loser and nothing better to do... it like eats your fabric though and gets stuck and you have to like cut it out with scissors...i think ill give it to someone for christmas...
you're evil those things are shit... I watched some tv show on nasty products that always break and that was one of the top three worst inventions or something like that. They don't work for anyone, they've VERY cheaply made. A used sewing machine would be a hell of a lot better, and they come pre-assembled for like $100 if you get a pretty old, basic one
