Me and Mushrooms

I have never been a mushroom fan....except made at this Japenese place on a Habichi grill where I have always loved them....

The past four days though I have eaten mushroom every day and liked them. In salads, in wraps and tonight I liked a portabella mushroom sandwich for the first time.... bread, spinach, italian dressing, portabella mushroom, mozarella cheese, turkey bacon and tomato... yummy.

Weird how I never could stand mushrooms before and I think I love them now.

I like the way they are cooked in asian food too

 

I used to hate dried fruit but now I love it... all except for raisins, they are still one with satan.

Mushrooms are my favorite thing though!

I love mushrooms. But I -HATE- it when they're overcooked. I can't stand canned ones for the same reason (except in spaghetti, because the massive quantities of tomato sauce cover up the weird texture involved). Mushrooms are super yummy ^_^

 

I don't know if I've ever eaten a canned mushroom and doubt if I ever will..

It took me this long to like fresh shrooms, even portabellos I didnt like fresh before today so I doubt I'll be eating canned ones.... just ewww....

 

I like mushrooms. I can't understand how you people can eat shrooms that don't make you trip.....they taste like used toilet paper.

 

how odd. i've always loved every kind of edible shroom i've ever eaten. mostly cooked with them myself. in broth. with noodles of some kind. or baked stuffed.

when i was little all my mom ever got was canned. little expensive silly cans.
this was back in the 50s.

when i started living on my own in the 70s, i started getting fresh ones.
never known enough about different varieties myself to go pick them on my own.
did grow some ngarics, however is spelled, the kind mom used to get in the can, in the crawl space under some house somewhere. oh and i went with some people once and picked the kind you get high on too. one time.

but mostly its about different kinds that are for cooking and eating you get in interesting stores or in interesting isles in stores.

wow. i'm amazed there are so many people on here saying they don't like them.

that leaves more for me i guess.

I got a portobello mushroom sandwich from Panera Bread that rocked.

 

I like shiitake and oyster mushrooms, and other wild ones, not to mention other kinds

 

HAHAHAHA! I am in the library right now and laughed out loud and people starred at me.

That was freakin hilarious.


I agree with ihmurria, canned mushrooms are terrible. I can't stand the texture or even the look of them.

I loooooooooooooove mushrooms though, they are amazing.

 

I love them... from the ones they sell in the suppermarkets to the ones you find in cowshit.

Just ate some today in a salad... yummy.

That's kind of weird cause I was the same way. Maybe mushrooms are an aquired taste?
