I am a former McDonald's employee. I appreciate the fact they gave me a job when I did not have one.......but they are a very bad company to work for. They run their company like the military. They treat their employees worse than the military. The food is kept in the UHC (hot box) trays so long it is a wonder every customer in a non-peak period doesn't come down with food poisoning. Fresh cooked or prepped food is not a McDonald's thing. They would rather give you old, past its serving time food than put it in the waste bucket or have you wait a minute or two for hot fresh product. The grilled chicken sits over water that is so bacteria laden that it stinks. And every time they grab a piece the water sloshes up on the chicken that is still in the tray. They pit employees against each other in contests to see who can have the fastest serve times. Rather than everybody working as a team to have an overall quickness of service and hot fresh food. The bosses yell at the employees and berate them all the time. I got fired for burning the biscuits. Of course the oven wasn't heating properly and hadn't been for a while and had burned product the night before. A whole bunch of product. When I stood up for myself and refused to take the blame I was asked to leave the building and not return. Quite a few of the people I worked with are now my coworkers at Burger King. Also McDonald's only has a benefit package for "full time" workers. So, they schedule you for part-time hours and then call you in for however many they please. So, even though you work full-time and more hours you can't get any benefits. Also, their "all beef" patties are all from a cow what meat is in them. But it isn't all muscle meat and they stay nice and round when they are cooked. Real beef muscle meat patties shrink a lot more and also they don't gum up the grill the way McD's do and they are not uniformly round no matter how you cook them. The quarter pounder meat is of better quality and yet even it doesn't shrink much. It ain't natural. They are perfectly round when they are pulled from the grill. Too perfect. I am proud to say Burger King meat acts natural and isn't "perfect". I can't say if there is any filler in it, but I really don't think so as it shrinks up and curls up and has uneven edges somewhat and is even more oval than round once it is cooked depending on the patty. It behaves just like the burger patties I put on the barbecue at home. I and the others who used to work at McDonald's all made the same comment our first day " Cool! I like working here!" So, please whether its the poor quality food they serve or the way they treat their employees I urge you all to NOT patronize McDonald's Restaurants. We got buttons at Burger King now. They say: FRIENDS DON'T LET FRIENDS EAT AT McDonald's! I wear mine proudly even when I ain't at work. Peace, Cricket
i haven't eaten mcdonalds in over two years. nasty nasty nasty shit. getting sick from mcdonalds foods was the catalyst i needed to go vegetarian.
Well, I haven't ate any meat in years so I really don't have any reason now to go. But back in the day I did eat meat I hated Micky D's so I didn't eat there even then. McD's scare me. Bright colors + a clown + icky food = me terrified.
theyre one of the dirtiest fast food places ive seen in awhile, i mean honestly, theirs always flies every mcdonalds ive been in! more than any other fast food place, too,
Sorry, but the BKs in my area are not much better on employees. It's a problem with franchising and trying to squeeze money out of an ignorant labor force (ignorant as compared to simply stupid.) workers need to know the labor laws in their state and stand up for their rights. http://www.afn.org/~iguana/archives/1998_07/19980704.html http://members.aol.com/DRovics/minl.htm
my first job was McDs and i didnt like it. they paid crap and it was alwasy busy. the people were nice since we all young kids who McDs would only hire (since they hire at 14). but it was a learning experience. i dont eat there anymore because im a vegetarian, soon to be vegan, but one thing is right, it is fast food.
from an industry newsletter I read daily: McDonald’s declared a second quarter loss of $711.1 million yesterday, down from a Q2 profit of $834.1 million during the same period a year ago, and only the second-ever loss in the company’s history. Q2 revenue climbed 12 percent to $6 billion, from $5.36 billion a year ago. haha!
YES In your eye MCD! Maybe people are waking up and seeing it for what it is, shit wait, that is an insult to shit...
Even worse are the french fries. In fact, McD's insists upon using a chemical on the potatoes to ensure that there are no brown spots. The catch is, the chemical is known to to damage the human nervous system. Those fries really ARE deadly...
I havent really ate at any burger places (cept in n out) in past few months, maby all of 4 times this past year... Honestly I would not be suprised if McD was owned by the tobacco corps, their marketing is the same. "play places" and a clown ffs, trying to feed our children shit. But the reason they stay in business is people gotta eat and some dont have time/money for a homecooked meal, others dont give a shit as long as it tastes good..and that they a soooo massive. http://www.mcdonalds.com/ Look for the "I'm going to Mcdonald's (arrow)" (those appear to be countries, not sure bout all of them.
I don't like McDonalds for a variety of reasons. I was traveling with a group of Christians on some trip, and somebody claimed that McDonalds is "homosexual friendly." In other words, they encourage immoral behavior, if the allegation is true. Well nice of them to tell me, after I just bought something to eat, from the wrong place. I really wanted to go to Wendy's anyway, but I failed to see the group that walked over there from the bus, and was afraid if I went by myself, I might get left behind. Or check out maddox.xmission.com In one of his articles, he is really critical of McDonalds, explaining how their trendy new (then) slogan really means "ailing vomit" or something or other. Sorry, but this computer I am at now, won't let me verify the link. I think it had something to do about how they bring in some Rap "artist" into their commercials, to be trendy and hip with poor inner city consumers (victims). Yeah, I hate such "unreal" phony commercials. They are too much "in your face" rude. And what's up with that really huge face, on everything Kentucky Fried Chicken? Should I buy, just because that old fart doesn't have enough money yet? Must corporate advertising be so crude, as to just trash our culture? And just the other day, some guy on the radio was talking about, does McDonalds ever learn? Seems that McD got themselves in some media hot water, with their latest stupidity ploy signing on Twista?, some rapper known to be among the worst for profanity. And was criticized by some generally liberal newspaper, and some Catholic priests or something, rented billboards criticized McD for that, and then they fired Twista with some flimsy excuse about that he didn't represent what they wanted to promote or about the profanity or something or other. Then lastly, McD is open on Sundays. Chick-fil-A's founder, Truett Cathy, believes that his employees deserve a predictable day off, a day of rest, a day to visit friends and family, or a day to attend Church, and stands for something by closing all Chick-fil-As on Sundays. http://chickfila.com/Closed.asp Closed Sundays. It's part of theChick-fil-A®recipe. Admittedly, closing all of our restaurants every Sunday makes us a rarity in this day and age. But it's a little habit that has always served us well, so we're planning to stick with it. Our founder, Truett Cathy, wanted to ensure that every Chick-fil-A employee and restaurant operator had an opportunity to worship, spend time with family and friends or just plain rest from the work week. Made sense then, still makes sense now. So if I must spend money on fast food, Chick-fil-A is my obvious first choice, because I respect that they stand for something, other than corporate greed, and "the almighty dollar."
Actually, their commercials were better, when they had their clown and friends, in the commercials. I can't stand these phony trendy and hip commercials, trying to blend in with whatever the happening trend, would supposedly be. McDonalds is old, and if all the bad press I hear about McD is true, then surely there must be other places to eat, more deserving of our business, than some old, greasy, minimum-wage, zero-respect-for-workers, greedy corporation joint.
And what's wrong with brown spots? Must everything be so uniform and "perfect?" I don't know about all those "chemicals," as some may have a legitimate use, or may merely be for flavor, color, or preservatives, but I do tend to suspect "unnatural" stuff, that exists mainly just for the sake of being unnatural. Say like "artificial" sweeteners? Why would I want "hollow" "diet" soda, when it tries to be like the "real" thing? Can't I simply buy the real thing? I suspect that "diet" is worse for people like me, than real natural? sugar. (Some might claim the "real" sugar is overly refined.) I always drink the real soda, not the "diet" imitation.
You say the burgers are too round? Doesn't that come from that they are frozen in pressed out "perfect" round patties? I am not sure that that signifies any problem. In comparison, most people who make their own burgers at home, probably don't have some machine to press out "perfect" round patties, and so they mold them by hand, and always get them thicker in the center than the outside, too much like a flattened ball, so they come out more non-uniform. Actually, in that respect, I like the commercial product better. It tastes better. I worked for a couple of weeks, as a temporary, in the cafeteria of a Christian school, and it was fun, well at least temporarily. They had me doing different things most every day. I made burgers I think, french fries ("freedom fries" in protest of French in-bed-with-Iraq politics), cookies, 2-color gelatin (not necessarily of the brand "Jello"?), and seemed to be respected as a person, not a mere corporate "production unit." I started experimenting at doing it better, and managed to slant the interface of the colored layers of the Jello in those clear acrylic cups, and get the temperature right so as to dissolve the gelatin, and be able to pour it, without blurring the colors of the 2 layers. Actually, it's probably good that the person I was subbing for came back from being sick, lest I might have turned into a chef? While food is necessary, I wouldn't want to work for long in that occupation, as I think food is somewhat boring. Not to mention underpaid.
Well I work at McDonalds now currently, and I can say that yeah, most of the stuff everyone is said in here is true. Flies land and buzz around the food all day long, and most of the food is left in the UHC's way too long. Also no ones cleans the grill after they cook so the griease and excess burnt burger just builds up and builds up.... Totally gross and I'm a vegetarian too, but a job is a job and this is the only place that I could find a job quickly at. But I am filling out more applications now and hopefully we be able to get out of there as soon as possible...
Maybe all of you Christians should check this out at every drive through and restaurant where you eat. Perhaps you should ask your doctors and hairdressers what their life styles are as well. How about your state senators and representatives? And I guess you stay home every Sunday and never cross the threshhold of any business or service on a Sunday. Maybe you should mandate that your local Walmarts only hire Christian heterosexuals. Not to mention your pastors and ministers, what sort of tests or inquisitions do you put them through?
J.Lyons & co. was a British food conglomerate that ran many tea shops and downmarket restautants, but is no more.
McDonalds Is Very Disgusting I Dont See how Millions Of People Can Even Eat Their Food. Gross. My Sister Is Practically In Love With This Place.
