Sometimes this country reminds me of the Roman Empire. Entertain the stupid, unwashed masses and they'll let you abuse your power any way you want. They'll stay blissfully ignorant. Throw them some meat, show them blood, and they will love you. The movie "Gladiator" deals with this idea.

Matt Damon is speaking as a citizen of this country...he has every right and duty to do this. In fact I think he has an obligation to do so because he has a certain access to the public that most of us do not. He's right, someone as challenged as palin should not be anywhere near the most powerful position on earth. While palin may be intelligent she is also vastly ignorant, small minded and mean spirited. Other world leaders will challenge her and she will rely on her wingnut religion to respond...then God spare us all.

Why should I care about what Matt Damon says?

Unless he is going to be equally critical of ALL the candidates, I have no reason to listen to him berate Palin while he kisses Obama's ass.

 

Ignorance doesn't play here. He has an opinion, he gets to state his opinion. What qualifies you to pass judgement on his opinion...your own differering opinion? Ignorance is trying to pass palin as qualified to be leader of the most powerful nation on Earth...that is truely ignorant and arrogant.

 

And his opinion means squat to me. What makes ANY of these people qualified to run your life?? You're just repeating what you heard on TV. Any intelligent person understands that it doesn't matter who wins because nothing ever changes when you have people of both parties controlled by the same hidden hand. I mean, Sarah Palin is just a puppet, as is Obama, McCain and Biden. These people don't run anything.

You believe the stuff you talk about because you choose to but that doesn't make it any more valid than anyone else's beliefs. I always liked Matt Damon. He's right though, it's such an obvious political move, come on, does anyone here seriously think she can lead the USA? give me a break.
