looks like volume is going to be way up today. from what i understand thats a sure sign of volatility..

and I just read that the gov't is considering taking a40% stake in citigroup

I had a feeling this would be coming out this weeked. Tonight specifically.

apparently a 40% stake is way out of the norm. there has been some straight up NASTY rumors on the net this weekend for sure.

 

let's hope they were only rumors, but I somehow don't think they are

 

everything's up now, asian markets rebounded,futures are up,gold is down..

well, if you remember, when the govt announced nationalization of fannie and freddie, the market did rally 300 points the next day. Why? Who knows.

But they are trying to side step calling this full blown nationalization....


....which makes no sense. ANY stake bought in a bank by the govt would be considered nationalization to me, whether it be 20% or 80%

I think now, we have to wait and see what actually happens, and see what other bad news come out today that the markets can rally on. (yes, you read that right.)

 

oh here we go,the market didnt seem to like the AIG news...
