If you look at almost every political setting, there is a group of elder people who are mainly conservative, and want to preserve the current laws etc. But soon enough, the WWII generation of elders will die off (they're mainly against marijuana, gay rights, etc.- anything progressive.) Also, the Baby Boomers- a generation of hippies who WANTED like nothing else to bring about social change back when they were kids and had a lotta free time on their hands will be RETIRED and they'll have that time on their hands again. Basically, like never before, we're gonna have our generation of tokers as well as the elder generation- supporting social changes such as marijuana legalization TOGETHER- not battling with one another. Gonna be somethin to def. look out for. Or we could just take a short-cut and VOTE FOR DENNIS KUCINICH- who wants to end the war on drugs, wants to give more gay-rights, wants to get outta iraq asap, wants to put laws up to cut down pollution![IMG][IMG]

oh c'mon. I don't think all the people in their middle age now are going to start a revolution to legalize pot in 10-15 years. most of them is total squares, daddy-o.

That will be nice :) I hope it happens sooner, I'm really tired of this stupid anti-"drug" bs. First off, marijuana isn't even a drug, it's a fucking plant, so WTF! I do have some conservative views, but I believe in LEGALIZATION of drugs, and what gives the government the right to DICTATE to citizens? Citizens have a right to do what they want, isn't like they're going around forcing people to do drugs, the [US] government is so ignorant.

I mean, how many of those hippies and 70's stoners who used to listen reverently to Yes, intoning the magic word of cannabis, still party out? most of them are now regular people in straight society, who usually don't support legalization, anyway.

Cannabis is just a plant that grows in the ground, and if you happen to set it on fire... there are some effects.

Yes, it's a drug, and yes it will be legalised eventually.

You should not count on the politicians to do so... not many pot smokers graduate Harvard, become a lawyer, and them go into politics... no sir.

    Hi ho.

[size=-1]You need to remember there are many people of your/our generation who are just as anti as some of the older folks and many older folks who are more liberal than the youth. Hell, my grandma was smoking weed in the 20s/30s in switzerland yet there's plenty of young conservatives these days who would vote to make punishments for marijuana use worse. Go figure.

yes and these things are amost harmrless if used wisely. however this world lacks wise people so you get constant addictions, crimes, overdoses etc. so thats where marijuana comes into play, it works the same way for the wise and fools - apart from woodstockchild ofcourse shes just a next one ;)

who knows, maybe even us, or most of us; who smoke pot recreationally during our teens and early adulthood will someday outgrow it and stop smoking and rethinking about our stoner years will make us realize that maybe legalization isnt sucha good idea...

I'm so tired of hearing people say something isn't a drug when it is. the two I hear the most are pot and salvia.
