I'm getting two cavities filled today & I'm wanting to smoke before I go so that the pain isn't too bad (it hurts even with the novacaine!) but I'm not sure if marijuana is harmless when combined with novacaine. Does anyone know if it'll cause a reaction? It's probably best to wait till after... but even then, is it good to smoke with a newly-done filling? What do you all think?? Peace & Love, Moon Beam
that's what i'm thinking... i'm probably overly worried, just because i have to get this done in the first place. i'm swearing off sugar. this sucks.
heh, i mostly do! it's either fruit or sugar in the raw. although i have been known to binge on dove chocolate from time to time...
update: decided against it, probably a good thing, since i need as much of my stash as i can get, now that it's all wearing off.
i love that novacaine feeling. Although last time I think they hit something wrong because my jaw hurt for a couple of months
I think the combination of being high and getting cavities filled wouldnt mix too well. I think it would kill your high
ohhh i could never smoke before getting teeth drilled. for some reason smoking weed makes me waaay more squimish than i already am.. i would probaby faint haha
I went to the dentist pretty baked yesterday... it wasnt that bad i just got lost in this random picture of a boat and it was over before i knew it
Yea the Mars volta are sick. And i went to an orthodontist apt. high once, and ganja burped during it hahah
i tried to drink some water after i got my wisdom teeth pulled (i got an ASSLOAD of n20 too) and the water just fell out of my mouth all over the floor...it was pretty bad
I smoked a bowl after getting novicane earlier in the day (like a few hrs before) & part of my mouth was still numb & so smoking a bowl was an adventure. I just wish someone was w/ me 2 laugh w/ b/c it was ridiculous.
if anything i reckon getting high beforehand will only make your mouth more sensitive and altogether unpleasurable.
I smoked last week and I was fine. Novocaine is no longer used. They now use lidocaine or xylocaine. Those are links to their info pages. Read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dental_anesthesia#Agents
During my (extensive) dental experience, I've been told by 2 different dentists that smoking weed (marijuana they say) makes it more difficult for the novocaine to work. I always wanted the deadener to Work, so I'd wuss out and only smoke a little 3 hours before an appointment - but they told me that didn't matter - it was in my system. Oh well. Also - it's according to your dentist. Novocaine is definitely still used.
haha same here....i'd probably start twitching too when they started trying to pull my tooth out...would not be a good situation lol
