Marijuana Forum to Cannabis Forum

Why is this forum called "Marijuana" when that is not the true name of the plant and is nothing more than a derogatory term for our great plant Cannabis. Maybe that would be one thing if we were all against the plant, but I would assume most of the people here don't wish to refer to Cannabis by that name.

So, why not change it? :cheers2:

The name Marijuana goes hand in hand with the plant being made illegal in the first place so I simply figured it would be better for the forum to call it by it's true name rather than the derogatory one.

I guess I'll keep a suggestion to myself next time. :toetap05:

I've wondered the same thing but marijuana seems to be as accepted of a term as cannabis is, so whatever.

 

It's funny how if this were called "dope" forums you wouldent feel the same about the issue, if anyone refers to Cannabis as "dope" its like all hell breaks loose. Maybe the OP feels the same about "Marijuana"

Well really most laws are in fact there for our benefit.

But that's pretty close minded, there are quite a few heavy posters in here that don't smoke anymore by personal choice

Hell I drink much more then I smoke weed these days.


Besides it'd be ridiculous to change it, it'd be like naming the alcohol forum from potent potables to the ethyl alcohol forum.

 

Simple fact is; it is called the 'marijuana forum'.
Deal with it, and move on.

 

Lets call it the Soft drugs forum!

Happily I was just kidding . For real, cannabis and marijuana have pretty much the same meaning in every way. Most people in my country just call it weed, except for the prime minister. He refers to the 'soft drugs policy'
