Just eating funnel cakes and going to the beach or amusement park. Watching tv, on the Internet. So preoccupied with everything else to see the dark side to what is happening. It is all coming to fruision. Only a matter of time. A bubble always burst when it hits it's breaking point.

If the bubble is going to burst anyway then I want to be doing something I enjoy like going to the beach. I don't like funnel cakes, though.

I have been listening to doomsdayers ever since a small child....I don't know what it is about predicting such things that fascinates people so.

I remember one person I knew as a small child who would speak of it, and i knew she was unhappy with her own life so she predicted the end for everyone. That was my asessment even as a small child of it all.

That and a wish to partake in a mutually shared delusion.

I don't know. People who are generally happy do not dwell on such things, I have noticed in life.

    That's why ignorance is bliss.

People that enjoy things that you find trivial and misleading are all stupid and sheeps. How is that not a form of ignorance?

It's not really limited to Americans. Americans simply have a tendency to be more fat, dumb and happy than the rest of the world, but as we can see it's only temporary.

The fact is most people exist in a slumber and they prefer to stay in a slumber. Trying to get a person to wake up who doesn't want to wake up is fruitless.

What's kind of annoying though is when people shun alternative viewpoints, yet expend an inordinate amount of effort trolling people with such viewpoints in an online forum.

Why would it make sense for someone to dwell in a dark reality they can't change?

May as well create your own reality

Because the meaning of life is to use the brain you were given to question things and not be one of the masses who simply repeats things because everyone else does.

I'd rather dwell in a dark reality than dwell in ignorance, that is for sure.

You know everybody's meaning in life? :p Maybe we should get rid of all overly misleading and distracting trivial garbage, like pro sports etc. because we do not like it at all how it distracts others from their ultimate purpose :p

I disagree, by yourself you're worthless

You're intended to be one of the masses for your species to help in a community

Sounds a lot like collectivism to me.

What exactly are the masses doing to help one another? How is the mass mind making this world a better place by just going along?

Well, I don't take it personally. I find sports like baseball and football just as boring and pointless as you (for me personally). I just see that your personal dislike is causing you to label other people as stupid and sheep, and it even gets to the point that your dislike for tv and competetive sports is making it sure for you that they're ruining or straying away from their purpose/meaning in life. That sounds a bit disturbing and delusional on itself.

I enjoy some of the same pastimes as you. I just don't see why people that happen to enjoy something I find worthless (for myself), like supporting a sportsteam, are further away from their meaning in life than you or me. We could take going to the beach for an example. Or do you piss on that just as much (too much sunshine and all)? ;) Or another 'trivial' pastime you enjoy yourself. So as you can see, it is not because I take your comments here too personal, it is because I am noticing you are making rigid assertions about other people that are actually based on your personal convictions about stuff like sport and their fans. It is ok, but very subjective and kind of jaded. I wanted to point that out.

And everybody who does not rather dwell in a dark reality in the way you do is stupid and a sheep. Not everybody who enjoys following a baseball competition or likes to go to the beach is dwelling in ignorance or denying reality. When you say stuff like that in earnest you make yourself sound crazy. I know you often are conveying opinions you take seriously, so that's why people (incl. me) reply seriously to you.

I'm thinking out loud here but does your meaning in life includes how these stupid people are leading their lifes? It would oppose your statement that you don't give a shit what people think what you write or say in public (I already found that a funny statement).

We set up a system of cultivators that find and grow us the best food. We then created a network in which people can transport these foods with other goods along roads (built by another group) to help sustain populations without everyone needing to do the same work. Now some of the population has been given access to more time by not needing to spend theirs also cultivating food, so we grow in professions to medical, science, and so forth.

Do I really need to explain the function of communities to you?

Politicians are a perfect example of this individual spirit you speak of. Single individuals who seek their own power, but if we lost one or more of them the world would go on like nothing ever happened. If we lost farmers or truckers, the world would truly be at a loss
