Ive got cuttings from a mate and hes been growing them for years he showed me how he gets the best from that strain (white rhino) 1. try to expose as many growing tip as pos, if some are taller than others top the tallest ones and let the shorter ones catch up. 2. if the shorter ones are shaded by large fan leaves chop the fan leaves off so the tips can get the light. 3. At the bottom of the plant remove tips that are very short and having trouble growing they often grow into the stem and grow deformed if you take these off, the plant can use more of its energy to grow the good tips.they never grow any good bud anyhow. It helps air circulate into the plant as well when there is less cluter at the bottom of the plant. 4. This is the all time big daddy tip. The part of the stem where the bud will grow from (where the pre flowers are) squeze it between your fingers till you hear a small crunch not to hard. This will make it grow stronger and will be able to take more weight when the bud starts to grow. Now this all works great with rhino but im not sure about other strains you can beat the fuck out of white rhino and it still loves you for it.
Nice looking plants. However... Leaves are food factories (converting light into plant mass) and fan leaves are also storehouse for nutrients the plants saves up for flowering. Ergo, removing leaves cuts yield & potency. People worry that buds are being sheltered from the light by leaves. A. You can easily re-arrange leaves with twist ties. paper clips, etc. B. I've never seen any expert state that light has to shine on the actual buds at all. Leaves are what powers photosynthesis, not buds.
this is more a way of getting lots of tips to grow in the veg stage i wouldnt think about pruning anything about two weeks before flowering i want all the tips i can get at the top of the plant. that pic is the result of this kind of prunning done in veg stage. many grow tips at even height. within two weeks the leafs are back in full force and the tips hav had the plants full energy to grow strong. white rhino is really bushy and dence so its a must really. And as for yield & potency you can see the bud to plant ratio and let me tell you that stuff fucks with your head ive been smoking for a long time and his shit puts me on my ass every time.
