Hi! I've lived in manchester for about 7 years, for a while when i first got here i was a bit lonely but i've met some great people while i've been here, and made some great friends. Don't get me wrong it can be a grim mean city, but the people make it worth it. I just wondered if there's a load of groovy people round here that i've not met yet, and if so would this be a good place to find you all? So stand up show your selves, where does your groovy gang hang out? Where do you go for a pint? what's the bobby moore? Look forward to hearing from you.... X peace
My half-brother lives there and possibly my mother...can't say as I care for the place all that much...but it's been a long LONG time since I've been. 11 years or something I think.
Manchester is a bit boring really and once its bands become famous they hardly ever play there again - It did used to have the epithet "madchester" but is all publicity hype is more like dullchester really although throughout britain its actually known as gunchester because of the pathetic 14 year olds gangs that carry bb guns
morning all. I am looking to chat to some fellow psychadelic adventurers. please point me in th right direction??
As a olde Manchester resident - and therefore somewhat adrift from 'the younger scene', I do find the diversity of student residence, the somewhat generally laid back attitude of those residing therein and sexual freedom of youth see an excitement of exuberance Manchester had it's time as a premier musical sound (spearheaded by a Tony (/Anthony H) Wilson led revolution) - and it will - as I'm sure Liverpool will too! - rise again. There is still a vibrant clubbing scene and music still rocks out, although perhaps more specialised. As for being 'Groovy' - that which is fad is such methinks I don't go to the City that much now, though "Afflecks" still remains a draw - with it's alternative choice of produce and ware remains
