A 33-year-old man who has fathered 30 kids is asking the state of Tennessee to give him a hand with his child support payments. Desmond Hatchett is having a tough time making ends meet while working a minimum wage job and seeing half of his paycheck get split up between his 11 baby mamas. Incidentally, his score and 10 kids is a record for Knox County, and some of his kids receive as little as $1.49 a month once the money is divvied up. Hatchett last appeared in court in May 2009, when he had a paltry 21 kids to his name and said he had no intention of having more. Somehow, he found a way to add nine more to his legacy, so we're guessing he probably isn't done at 30.



That is so crazy.. 30 kids.. at 33 years old.. that is really close to a baby for each year he's been alive.

Instead of candles for next years birthday cake they could use his children...

Yeah as if they weren't already getting public assistance . This is one of the very reasons and what the 1% sees when looking at the 99% . They think we are ALL just like this dirt bag . And why is only 1/2 his check going to his kids ? We have become a nation that takes no personal responsibility for our actions . I'm sorry this shit just pisses me off . And it shouldn't ,cause that's what the media propaganda machine intended for it to do . Divide ,divide,divide . People have become such pieces of shit . There is no hope . How have we as a nation , become this fucking stupid and irresponsible ? It's insane , no it's really criminal . This is what happens when you eliminate survival of the fittest from the equation.

This guy is just following his biological programming by maximizing his chances of having offspring, but the modern world doesn't punish such indiscriminate spawning, rather, it enables it. If it were 100 years ago the problem would take care of itself as he would be unable to feed all of these kids.

There are times when you might say forced castration could be justified, unfortunately, that's a precedent we really don't want to set.

By the way guys, he's not that much more to blame than the women who keep having kids with him.

seriously, you folks are right on. it is idiocracy. it is absurd. i hate to say it, but the most stupid people breed the most. the more intelligent people breed less, if at all. 30 fucking kids?!?! surely this type of utter irresponsibility and stupidity is a significant contributing factor to the plight of our society today.

i am still wishing for some thought contagion and mental revolution, but shit like this weakens my hope a bit.

Nonsense, you cannot consistently rely on fortune like you can consistently rely on physical or mental prowess. You could say there is an element of luck involved, but we are talking about a geological timescale here.

Even if a specimen was exceptionally lucky, if it was physically or mentally inferior to the average specimen, it would still likely be weeded out before it could produce offspring. On the off chance it wasn't, its offspring wouldn't have the genetic makeup required to survive or attract a mate.

 

i don't know ... look at modern society. those peeps who are less aware, tuned in, intelligent, etc. not just survive and attract mates but reproduce excessively. i hate to say it because it is a little bit off color, but in today's amerika peeps with less education, income, and worldliness frequently make the most babies. they oftentimes can't afford them, they can't educate them, but they make them. and then those spawn reproduce. and on. this isn't genetics or some variation on survival of the fittest, but is stupidity and excessive breeding without awareness for the many consequences (monetary, emotional, environmental/impact...), made possible by the fact that we live in cities and towns and have built up our world so much that there isn't the real opportunity for darwinism or whatevs to play out as it likely did in a much more natural, primitive and/or lesser developed world.

How do we know he's stupid? I assume he works a not too-demanding job at minimum wage and is getting child support for his kids. Plus he'll have a lot of children/grandchildren to look after him when he's old. That doesn't sound so stupid to me.

Why should your resentment at paying for his kids account for his stupidity? Terms like "irresponsibility" only betray your anger at his taking advantage of the welfare arrangements offered to him at your own disadvantage. That's not stupidity - in fact it's rather smart if he's able to overcome his own moral feelings, which most of us aren't (including you!).

Be honest with yourself. You're annoyed at having to do something you don't want to (work) to pay for this guy, so therefore you're going to call him 'stupid', because it's the only way to cause him pain and possibly change his behavior to benefit you.
