Aman from India has been paralyzed from a police beating. He had come to America to visit his son and grandson in Alabama. The son is taking university classes to become an electrical engineer. The father went out for a walk around the block and someone reported to the police that a suspicious person was walking in their neighborhood. The cops arrived and were unable to understand the man from India. And the Indian man pointed at his son's home to let the police know where he was staying. Then he began to tell them the telephone number, thinking that would help. The cops patted him down and found nothing. He kept repeating the telephone number, hoping they call his son who speaks english. Instead one of the cops pulled his arm behind his back and placed a hand on the back of his head, then slammed him on to the pavement. The impact damaged the man's vertebra and now he is paralyzed.
http://www.al.com/news/index.ssf/2015/02/indian_citizen_stopped_by_madi.html Code: Sureshbhai Patel was taken by ambulance to Madison Hospital. Hospital staff called his son at work at 9:42 a.m. on Friday. Chriag Patel found his father at the hospital unable to move his legs and with limited motion in his arms. From there, due to swelling in the spine, Sureshbhai was transferred to Huntsville Hospital for surgery to fuse two vertebrae. He remains hospitalized. Chirag said his father can now move his right leg a little bit, but the left remains paralyzed. He said his father can raise both arms, but cannot make a tight grip. He said his father had no health problems prior to this incident. Chirag Patel hopes his father will regain full motion, but he said he was told this would involve lengthy therapy. He is uncertain when his father will be able to leave the hospital.
Alabama , you say? Well. How unusual. Happens most everywhere though, to be fair to those in Alabama that just love their 'darkies.' And New York. And --
Thank you, I don't know how to cut and paste a link on to here. That's what I wanted to do but could not accomplish it. I'm very sad for that poor man who didn't even know how to speak english. He's just a poor farmer who probably knows about ayur-vedic herb medicines. He certainly deserved listening and understanding from the Alabama cops.
Poor man. I'm not one to stereotype but if I did I would say Indians are some of the nicest, most unassuming people. Fuck da police
Aren't they supposed to charge him with assaulting a Police Officer? It looks better for the cops usually.
wow how sad! the police officer responsible should be incarcerated and made to live the pain he has caused this man, who may have to live with a severe disability the rest of his life. I sure hope he pays, and is made to learn a hard lesson! (i hope some of those boys in prison make him get on his knees and turn his ass out) I hope the man recovers, i knew a girl who was in a car accident and broke her back and ended up paralyzed. After probably over a year of rehab she did finally recover the ability to walk.
The writer above said people from India are nice and I agreed with her. I know lots of nice people from India. Someday I want to go there and walk all the way to the mountains in Nepal. I hope the Americans don't kill me.
