I made it: Wim Hof, also known as the Iceman organised a 1 kilometer barefoot walk on ice two weeks ago: we were 316 people who made it and now we have set a world record: it was great fun, see www.icechallenge.nl for pictures and photos.

You can also google on Wim Hof, who has run barefoot marathons at minus 15 degrees Celsius and climbed mountains barefoot in the snow.

Congratulations. I've always been very curious about the people in that book.

What made you decide to go for a record?

Well, I got invited on FB so I decided to cheque it out, never thought so many people would partcipate.
At first is was really cold but after 300 meters it was OK.
    Great atmosphere too
