Does anyone know how to make incense? Heh, I'm trying to make some money, and I thought it would be a good idea, plus it sounds like fun =) Thanks everyone!
ive seen "incense making kits" on ebay...basicall they send you the cones and the oils and you just put two and two together. from scratch though i have no idea and thats probably what you meant. sounds like fun though.
you can buy blank stick or cones, you basically just soak in oil and let dry. I made them for years before I just gave up on craft shows. if you get good strong oil you can use baby oil or buy a special oil to cut the scent. I found that sticks sold much better than cones. if you use a pure oil (not an alcohol mix) you can guarantee your incense to burn an hour or more per stick. this is a great selling point. I bought supplies thru Madina in New York, I think they have a web site. you can expect to pay $18-$30 for a pound of oil. there are other sources, but I found their oils to be of good quality.
