Psychedelic/hippie room ideas? (people who grew up in the 60's help would be very appreciated) I also have another question. Would it be better to take away the support frame of my bed so I'm just left with a mattress? Music ideas are appreciated too!
That actually really helps. I'm not going for a stereotypic look. I'm going for what I think looks cool, and what I want.
...i not from the 60's or anything but i recomend^ what they said and cover it in tapestry too.....at least thats how mine is
I love my room here on the island...I set it up really laid back and casual. I just have a mattress on the floor to sleep on. It's comfy...I also have furniture that is low to the ground and tapestries on the wall... I really dig having everything low to the ground, it makes me feel more grounded.
if you like painting you can paint stuff all over your walls. just do whatever the heck you want to do and if you think it looks cool, you have succeeded. theres really no need to take away your bed frame unless you really want to.
ppl call my room my "hippie den" and I have no idea why...it just evolved with my taste over the years. I have a few tapestrys, a buddah statue, and some great posters...no to mention cool lights. (target has neat outdoor/indoor lights in the garden section)
I've got red beanbagchair (really comffy if you know how to sit) Green/yellow,red,white stripe curtains and matching pillow. And Ac/Dc (bonfire), Che Guevara and Axis: Bold As Love posters. People say room looks like it's from the sixties and i think it's cool loking room

Here's what mine looks like: I dunno, I hope that gave you some inspiration. But you should do what YOU want to do! Make it your own =)
you could pick up a craft or something to make your own sweet wall hangings and stuff. im in the middle of batiking a giant sheet into a really trippy design. ^crimsonbegonias your room looks amazing!! i love all your posters and especially your celtic looking tree tapestry cool name too by the way, scarlet begonias is a great song if thats what you were going at
I would recommend not trying to follow anyone's advice but your own. Don't try to be stereotypical nor cliche. Be yourself in everything that you do. It may take a while to figure out what you want, but when you have it all together there is nothing better.
