my mom is saying see wants to send in requests to the makeover shows for me so i can lose the dreads and to dress better..aka no tye dyes and jeans and hemp and stuff....haha and shes serous..she hates dreads and wont give it up..its pretty amusing though...hehehe the dreadies arnt leaving anytime soon shes so stuck on vanity and how your hair is supposed to look and how girls are supposed to dress...im sorry if i dont feel the need to conform to societys standards of beauty..lol peace and love
i say run away. either that or smack your mom. just smack her, trying to control your life like that...sheesh
lol but if you got accepted into one of those shows can you honestly say you wouldnt be just a little tempted to say yes?
Its pretty funny how she whants to send u to a makeover show...just tell her to accept your for who you are not how you look like...i taught people understood that nowdays...
just stay how you are man, tye dye, jeans and hemp are cool and comfortable. and dreads are hot on girls.
i wouldnt say yes because i wouldnt change because someone paid me some money..that just isnt how i am..and she thinks that i take away from how i look because i have dreads...argh i dont really care what she thinks...hehe o well peace and love
You should be kicked in the face for saying something like that. Anyway, it is wacked that she wants to send you to a show to be made over, but you never know, you might like the results. Are you not wanting to go because this is really who you are, or is it because you MUST live up to being a hippie?
i dont want to change because the way i dress and act is who i am...and i wouldnt change who i am as a person because somebody gave me a credit card to spend a bunch of money to change my complete apperance....i dont like buying cloths from large companys like abercrombie, american eagle, etc....i dont like cloths made from sweat shops or funding corporate america...i know that sounds weird but i cant stand how so many large companies dont care about anything except the large amounts of money shoved in there pockets..they dont care if young children are making there cloths in third world countries and hardly getting paid....i have a strong belief in that and thats also why i dont buy cloths from brand names....i feel because of this if i just said ok im going to change my appearance and spend a bunch of money on new cloths from all the "hip" stores, i will not only go against my preference of style but i would also go against my beliefs....i dont like being another poster child for some magazine..i like being myself and dressing the way i want...but without funding the large corporations that have divided america...i tried to explain that as best as i can..peace and love
Yikes! you are not the way you act or dress, those are just projections or reflections of who you are or who you want to be or what you want to be percieved as.
Your clothes most definitely should NOT define you as a person. Sure, you can love what you wear, but if you're using your clothing to define yourself, you have some major issues you need to work out. She's not changing you. She's not even forcing you. Most of the clothes you wear are probably made in SWEAT SHOPS. You're complaining about sweat shops, but they give those kids something to do. They have money to eat on. If they didn't have that job, they might be worse of than they are. And, what beliefs are these? The sweatshop ones? Like I said, more than likely, the clothes you have on now were in a sweatshop at one time. It's not JUST large corporations that fucked America over. You really have no clue what you're talking about.
ahhhh...like i said its hard to put in words..i dont even feel like argueing about something like this..but i dont understand how you can think young children working in sweatshops are okay. and why do you think that what i wear is just a contradiction?..it isnt because i make most my tyedyes and most my other cloths i know where its made. and i dont think that large corporations are the only problem in amercia..but i believe they are a problem..im sorry but its my opinion... eh it really doesnt matter. i dont think this is even something to agrue about..i was just saying that i wouldnt change who i am because somebody told me too. peace and love
first off, i don't see how anyone can support sweatshops. do you know what those children are treated like? they would be better off on the streets if you ask me, but i don't think the streets are nearly as bad as working all day, sweating, starving, and being beat. maybe its just me. secondly, next time she says something, tell her you don't like her nose and think you'll turn her in to extreme makeover so she can get a nose job, along with some lipo, a facelift, and breat implants. see how she likes that.
