I have a Mac 7200/120 that was given to me.Three questions. 1. When shutting down a sign comes up saying "The volume bitmap is incorrect". What does this mean? 2. I looked inside the other day. There are plug in strps for modem or ethernet cards. I also noticed that there was an ethernet socket on the motherboard at the back.Is this a built in ethernet circuit and therefore not requiring a seperate ethernet card for ADSL modem connection? 3.There is also a 25 pin socket. The printer uses one of the Apple type similar to a Mouse type ( but larger) on an IBM.What is it for?
Yes. the 7200 includes a built-in ethernet interface. It's a serial port. old macs used serial ports (as opposed to parallel ports on pc) to drive printers. It won't be so easy to find a serial printer nowdays, but you can easily add a USB pci card to this mac & hook-up a USB printer. just make sure you're using a system that supports usb, (macos 8.6 & up if i remember correctly).
