LYNYRD SKYNYRD...ALWAYS...forever!

Is it just me getting older, or does the current crop of 'new' music just plain SUCK?? The southern rock I grew up with, from the Allman Brothers to.38 Special, to Skynyrd not only stands up to the current music out there, it sounds BETTER than anything out there!
I understand that RAP is just a different form of expression, but truly can you call that crap, 'MUSIC'?
Sorry to go on a rant, but heh... LONG LIVE RONNIE VAN ZANT...and LYNYRD SKYNYRD...free as a bird...

I read an interview by some musician I dont exactly remember who it was. Back when rock was rock it was all new and just mind blowing push the limits kick ass rock. But nowadays nobody is doin anything different or just completely out there. I love skynyrd, there is so much intensity and heart in ronnies words and allen and gary's guitars. Every thing about it sends shivers up my spine. That musician also commented on rap and why its so popular in this day. Its new, different and those guys are pushing the envelope. I dont like it, but i guess that what makes it happen. Even if it is rap. Just wait it happened before and it will happen again somebody will come out with just some unexplainble new sound that will blow are fuckin minds.

Yes, though.... Skynyrd is the GREATEST band of all time in my own opinion, and I'm happy to see that I'm not the only one. I LOVE me some Ronnie Van Zant and some old school Allen Collins! Anyone out there know that song Four Walls of Railford or maybe even Mr. Banker??? I actually know some people who went to their old highschool down in Jacksonville, FL, and my uncle T was gonna let me come meet them when he was gonna jam with them like 5 years ago.

Skynyrd taught me what Rock n' Roll is when I was a kid. If I hadn't stolen my mom's tape just because I wanted to hear what a song called Poison Whiskey sounded like, who knows how my life might have turned out... It's kinda scary to think about really...
Anyways, that was awesome!!!

 

Hey check out my little thing where yours says member, I cant get enough of them I've been to Ronnie, Steve and Cassies gravesite. They also have the FreeBird Live down here where a lot of bands play. Seen the high school to. ITs pretty badass to be livin where there from. Raiford prison is still down here, and I love all there songs
