Alright im thinking of trying lsd and ive read everything and im all happy but I also read that it changes you forver. I just want to do it once but i dont want my mind to change is it true that it does. If it does how does it. I want to go to uni and get a good job etc etc will it change my thoughts on things iike this or just make me more positive and thats pretty much it?
The acid doesn't change you, the change is what you do with the experience. While this is hard for me to explain I'd like to ensure you, it's not like an uncontrollable mental process; you don't do it and inexplicably come back changed. Usually the changes are due to introspection, thinking about personal issues and resolving them, like a self psycho-analysis. I experienced the change, and thank god, don't know what I would have done without it
the only people i would tell to never try psychedelic drugs are people who have had cases of mental illness in their family because its definitely something so strong and groundbreaking that it might bring out the elements of the illness in the user. even though this might not be a good test, but if you can smoke marijuana habitually and not have any paranoid delusional schizophrenia type feelings on that, well then, i'd say you're probably capable of handing LSD. though it is absolutely NOT the same type of effect as weed, don't mistake me on that.
I just recently tried it for my first time. I had two hits but I haven't really changed at all. It was just a very cool experience and I would like to try it again soon.
Exactly. It's not like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, it's not like you go in yourself and transform into some mutated thing when you come out the other side. It's more like a bunch of light bulbs popping on inside your head and you come away from it with a new perspective. It's not at all like you're thinking and you won't really understand it 'til it happens and you have your post-trip self to compare to your pre-trip self. It's profound, but subtle. It will all make sense when it happens. It's almost always a positive thing.
I sort of disagree with Tixarn. LSD doesn't have a profound effect on your psyche because of self-psychoanalysis.... In fact there's no self about it....I think it's up to you to feel a change, but you don't necessarily enact it yourself. You're self is kind of just lost to the experience of it, and it has a significant impact on your psyche in ways you can't control. You can control how those psychological changes impact your life.
the effect of LSD is a break down of the normal functioning of the mind, especially as it was created by yourself in the past, and that does not lead to huge introspective revelations more than half the time. Sometimes the ego death is just something of nature, and there is no interpretation needed, and nothing needs to be thought out of it... As to if you'll feel different the rest of your life...no... ...you probably wouldn't even withhold much of the psychological effects but you can remember, and re-realize but one can easily fall back into the same patterns as before
Actually, that's exactly what I got from tixarn's post meh, now I re-read it and am even more confused. nm. burnt for the day.
It is absolutely not what he/she said/implied. Not sure how you find those similar enough to get them confused. Doesn't matter, it's just an opinion. We all react in different ways, I'm sure tixarn only has been effected longer than a trip in the way he said, and I, mine. Edited the difference is... The changes you feel in the mind is the result of looking at yourself and making changes in Tixarn's world. In mine your mind is completely subjected to the experience, and there is no self sorting, just an uncontrolled break down of your mental constructs.
If you believed all your life that the sun revovled around the earth and someone told you that no it did not, the earth revolves around the sun, and then they took you to space and showed you. You would clearly see that the earth was revolving around the sun, it would change you, you would now know the truth. That is what LSD does.
Only if you're feeble minded and weak-willed. Which the vast majority of people are. I'm really starting to dislike hippies. Stop spreading this nonsense. Psychedelics CAN be a great psychological tool. They can be a good high too. Just don't be a stupid asshole and you'll be fine.
Well keep taking hits till it changes you. Since it didn't change you profoundly perhaps you should check if your chakras are alligned (they do that at Pep Boys) and consult your animal guru spirit. Also, I suggest at once that you misunderstand some buddism. That's the big one.
What's a forver? I really would like to know, I've taken a lot of LSD over the years and I want to know if my forver is ok. Can I check it myself or do I have to go to a Dr.? Maybe a forver specialist? Has anybody else noticed any changes in thier forvers? Are girl forvers the same as boy ones? I'm really concerned and need to know what is going on with my forver. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
