I have to know, do you think lsd has opened up your mind, or just f*cked it up even more. Dont want to make a mistake in the long run.
That you even have the slightest thought in your mind that LSD will cause permanent long term damage should be reason enough for not taking the chance... There is far too much false information on this subject, pro and con. ZW
I've found that the people who were 'never quite again after that' after doing LSD were the ones who really were either quite right or of low intelligence to begin with. Make sure you are in the right state of mind, with the right people and so forth. It WILL change your mind and your attitude about the world, so ask yourself if you're willing to live life as a cultural outsider from here on in. good luck
Good post, I fully agree. :cheers2: Cultural outsider= Culturally maligned= keep your bizzare attitudes about life in general to yourself (in mixed company) and you'll be fine! I have never known anyone who seemed damaged by lsd. Me and most of my trippin' buddies from the '70s don't trip much anymore (most not at all, just a little pot) They are all perfectly functioning adults with jobs and mortgages and kids and whatnot... ZW
ZW is quite right. I am 61 and tripped hundreds of times when I was younger. It does give you a different outlook on the world in general. Like ZW I have never seen anyone permanently damaged by lsd - though I have seen some it took a while to get over their trip. It is not a poison - it will not kill you. It simply puts your mind in a frame that allows it to see alternatives you have never seen - nor could ever see without the drug. It is certainly not for everyone - but if you are fairly stable and are in a good state of mind you would probably benefit from the experience.
God forbid! just ask the other sheeple, and they'll tell ya original thought is baaaaaaahdd. and there will always be among us folks who are 1 dendrite short of a synapse, with or without drugs.
Don't expect acid to make you into something you're not. Don't expect it to solve your problems. Don't expect it to make your life easier. Don't expect it to make you smarter or sexier or happier. It's kinda like if you went to the desert and fasted/meditated for 40 days, except .. umm ... not exactly. If you think that experience would fuck up your head (other than being really hungry), then acid might also. This is just one person's opinion ... *shrug*
I too did hundreds of hits in the early 70s. Did it harm me? Who am I to judge? Because of my experimentation with acid, the person I might have been never was. Would that person have been better than I? I will never know. Know who you are before you experiment, as you will never know that person again. At least delay this decision if your life is currently very stressful or you have some strong anxiousities.
Oink - I agree with you in that I will never know what I would be like had I never tried acid - as you said about yourself. Though we neither one have any idea about who we would have been - would you have preferred to have withheld acid from yourself? If so - are you unhappy with your view of the world and mankind in general - on your viewpoint of war and social justice? Or - are you glad you took acid. Are you satisfied with most aspects of your life and have trouble comprehending thinking any other way? Personally, I am glad my personality and belief system was at least partially influenced by acid. There is certainly a price to be paid for its use - but the benefit, in my case, outweights the negative consequences. I may have made more money - probably would have made more money but that is not a good yardstick for a "good life". I have a wife of 35 years, a son, a home, a car and a bad case of empathy for my fellow man. Bottom line question - Would you rather not have taken the drug?
I think we all are saying the same thing and the important thing is to feel good about taking acid or don't take it. It intensifies what is already there. That is the beauty of it. If you like looking at the color blue you may know what blue tastes like. Or red or green. If you are happy you may laugh at the most insignificant thing and if you are apprehensive you may get crawl-under-the-bed paranoia. I had some good trips and the vibes around me at the time made me all love and one with humanity and the universe. Once saw a guy dressed in military fatigues sitting in a coffee house tripping and he was planning revolution. It works what is already in your being. And, you will learn that it is not like getting drunk - you will be more alert and will likely remember things of the trip in detail - like the stuff I just related from 40 years ago.
Thank you.Everyone here has pretty said my thoughts about LSD.Just be careful you get the good CLEAN acid.Nothing like a little arsnic to give you a painful trip.
One thing about LSD is you'll always remember the trip. Acid helped me see who I was and what I wanted (and didn't want) and what I needed to do make my dreams come true. In my younger days my mind was jumbled with questions and fears. LSD helped me see through those to see the bigger picture. I took around 25 trips. Where I'm at today, in my life, is a direct result of ideas and things I learned from tripping. I dont regret any trips. LSD is not a party drug. It should be respected. It's not unlike a religious experience. imo Never got brain damage as far as I can tell. lol Today I substitute LSD with meditation, hiking, road trips, books, music, dinners with family and friends. It's been around 15 yrs since i last tripped. I'd be willing to do it again.
You and me both - but it's been 40 years for me. I really think God made LSD so we could peek through the gate at Him.
i quit counting trips at 250 but have maybe 500 trips under my belt--permantly changed yes damaged no----i think i know alot more about reality --and if i have any religious feelings at all they came from shrooms mescaline and LSD---and it aint all peace and love it can make you fight better and laugh about it or love and laugh-----sometimes you get that love the world trip sometimes you get your above everyone else on the planet megalomaniac trip---thats a dangerous trip because you feel the laws of society dont apply to you and can lead to some evil shit
along with other have said if you are somehwat thinking this because youve seen people who you can tell did alot of drugs and acid in the past then its from the other drugs not acid that maybe there brain isnt working its best
i'm really curious about 'sid yet i think that dropping some would be a nice move towards self destruction for me. i mean, if you have a really nasty dog inside your yard you better keep him at the chain, no ?
fucked mine up even more, I already had weird mind to begain with, Everyone reacts to drugs differently, im one of those people who just cant take lsd. Ecspeacily if you already have mental health problems to begain with [like me]. Its was sweet halucinatiing but besides that fucking horrible. Dont know wether i just had a bad trip thoe's 2 times i did it but i dead set felt different the day after i took my first tripp.
