Lou Doubbs of CNN is talking shit about marijuana today. Yesterday on his poll that you vote on the internet with was "do you think marijuana should be legalized?" and around 50% said yes, I myself voted too. On the program he said that the new studies on marijuana say that it causes cancer and long term mental problems.

brookhaven national labatories is his source for the information. He says its dangerously addictive. but the good thing is the expert said that smoking is the link to cancer not marijuana chemicals. All this angers me, its all propaganda and it always is.

I, myself, like Lou Dobbs... but I think he can be a bit mainstream.

Well... I still don't think you'll get much better than Ed Bradley or Dan Rather.

But... that's why there's Colbert and Stewart, these days.

I watch lou dobbs every day and he is alright, but sometimes he gets out of control and ridiculous, that is either just him or his reporting technique.

I used to like Lou Dobbs, until I heard him say that Burkas should be illegal. He's nothing more than a dinosour, old ideas and old ways of thinking. Not to mention he's anti-pot. I guess the baby boomers feel that they didn't ruin our country enough, and they need to do more damage.

Smoking anything is harmful, it's not propaganda. But there are other methods to use cannabis.

    I loved Dan Rather.

Anyone who gets HBO should check out Bill Maher. His show is like The Daily Show on steroids with 5 more balls surgically attached. And not in a testosterone-driven kind of way - in a "hey we're HBO we say what the fuck we want" kind of way.

A burka is a full-length outfit common in ultra-religious middle eastern and african countries. It's the go-to image whenever the news wants to talk about how poorly women are treated in that part of the world.

It covers the whole body, except for the hands and an eye slit.

It kinda looks like something outa star wars.

you shouldn't confuse a burka with a hijaab, which is a traditional head scarf. Contrary to popular belief the burka and hijaab are cultural imports for the arabs. The hijaab was extremely popular in Palestine around that time (the Virgin Mary is often portrayed wearing one), and burkas came from the Byzantines.

    True that.

Anyone ever watch politically incorrect back in the day? it used to run after midnight on ABC. They got cancelled for saying that the 9-11 hijackers weren't cowards.

Yeah, I used to watch it a long time ago. I don't always agree with most talk show/news anchors on everything, but Bill Maher blows most out of the water these days.

Lately, it feels like we've been losing good journalists left and right.

And I can't remember if it was Ed Bradley or Dan Rather who shot up heroin, once, in a special coverage study on it. For awhile, I thought it was Walter Cronkite, but he's too old as it happened around the 50s/60s and whoever it was that did it wasn't that old yet, if I recall. Anyway, they did a story on it and one of the two/three decided they would be injected with heroin to find out what it's really like...

I think that takes alot of balls too.

Give me one journalist, besides Geraldo Rivera, that would do that these days.

    I highly doubt that.

I take it you're not familiar with a certain Tucker Carlson.

But, I do commend him on...

He stated in August 2006 on MSNBC's Tucker that he is an ardent fan of Grateful Dead and late Grateful Dead guitarist and songwriter Jerry Garcia, and claims to have attended more than fifty of the Grateful Dead's shows. This puts him in the company of fellow conservative pundit Ann Coulter[26], actor and activist Edward Norton, and politico via SNL Al Franken, all of whom also profess to being "Deadheads".

I think it's none of anyone's business what it *might* cause. If people want to smoke it, or shove it up their ass, isn't it their inherent right to do so?

    More people should smoke.

That way we can find out the effects together. Everyone who can should also grow, to lower commercial prices and demand.
