Looting in New Orleans...

It's incredible that what's being looted is whisky, guns, liquor, basketball shirts and gold chains.

Fellas there's priceless antiques and fine tobaccos in the Quarter sheesh

 

just proves the average looters aint all that bright

Naturally I'd give the antiques back.... TO A MUSEUM

But up til then I'd be living like Oscar Wilde.

 

Well, after everything is over, are they going to try and salvage everything that wasnt destroyed? Like, if half of walmart was destroyed, would they save the other half(merchandise) or just get rid of it all? If they got rid of it, then its not so bad that people are looting, except for the part where theyre taking what wasnt theirs to begin with. If its all going to be destroyed in the end, then let them have it, i say. They couldnt afford to get out of new orleans in the first place, anyway.

 

I guess before the levees broke, it made sense. Hell, from the reports I read, cops didn't care if people looted food or water or even clothes or new shoes if they fit... But with the water flowing in, what's the point of expending all that energy to steal a tv that they'll probably never get to use? But maybe the people looting big stuff live in one of those rare parts of N.O. that is on higher ground...

 

they still say food and water diapers etc. you get a pass,, the rest should be shot..

Hey that's bright. These people are under tons of stress and everything has been taken from them, even family members. I am sure some have a strong feeling of there's nothing worth living for anymore. But none of that matters. We should make it worse and dispose of 'em. Seems as if you could put your heart where you mouth is, you'd be the best lover in the universe.

 

guns and ammo CAN protect what little you have, and guns and ammo CAN kill something worth eating. though i can't imagine there's anything worth eating down there just now...

really? i doubt it. i DO know theres been a MASSIVE increase in "survival ocupations" such as prostitution and such. just cause the looting didn't make it on the evening news, i don't think for a second that nothing happened. what really happens in low income countries that make the news anyway? the tsunami wouldn't if it weren't for the massive loss of property, life, and the fact that rich westerners can't travel there for a little while.

hell, the king of whogivesafuckistan could be shot and killed in a street mugging and it wouldn't even make BACK page news in the us....we're too worried about football scores and stuff.
