So, this summer so far-other than little things here and there I haven't really done too much. But that all is changing and really looking forward to two things- the beach in Sept. annnnd next weekend...

First, on Saturday will be having my mom babysit Cason all day (the longest anyone has ever watched him- usually it's just for a few hours) and we are going to Hershey Park... it's the day that we get to go for free because of Dan's work paying so we'll do that all day- as well as all of our food being free as they're going to be grilling food. So, looking forward to that- not the lines for sure, but I love roller coasters and it's been years since I've been on any....
Then, Sunday, gonna head out to Longs Park in Lancaster- get there hours early like we used to do and set up the little charcoal grill and grill some yummy food and play Frisbee and stuff with Cason... I love Frisbee and can't wait to teach him- probably bring the kite too and then... the free show is going to be Samba Mapangola- which should be fun and I'm really looking forward to seeing. Haven't made it out to any of the shows yet this summer so gonna try to go to (most) of the rest of them. Yesterday we took Cason to the street fair that this town has - which basically about 8 blocks were closed off and it was a mixture of a carnival and a flea market. Really fun...and there was a band doing 90's songs that was decent and Cason (who loves music, loves to sing and dance and I swear is going to be in a band some day. He told me today he wants to play the drums. I'd have him covered with teaching him the flute but can't do the drums but my brother is a drummer in a couple bands so he'll have him covered teaching him that..), anyways, yeah, Cason loved hearing the band. Was dancing and running around and standing right by the stage (the guys in the band seemed to adore him)- after every song he was like "another one! another one!".. it was a blast and it was just this little small thing so I'm so looking forward to seeing how he reacts to a bigger show. Should be lots of fun. And there is a forum member who lives near there who hopefully should be able to come out too so..yay :)

So, next weekend will be nice. Anyone else doing anything fun lately? (next weekend, this past weekend... when ever!) :)

The great thing about having kids is that one has an excuse to be a kid again and essentially grow up all over again.

Hahaha... seriously, that is so true. :)

You would not believe how much I looked forward to going to this (little kids) amusement park (Dutch Wonderland)- have already taken him there 3 times and he's only 2.5 years old. I had such great memories of going there as a kid myself so it was so nice being able to walk into the castle they have there and go shopping for toys. :D

And don't even wanna get started on how much I'm looking forward to (next summer) taking him to Sesame Place (near Philly)...which I have never been to but think looks awesome. And I would never go there without a kid... wanna go there on a day when Yo Gabba Gabba performs. :D

and then there was chuck e cheese :D

and trick or treating... (soon again!!)

    etc....

Being a kid again with more responsibilities and less sleep than ever doesn't exactly sound like fun to me.

Hah... yea, well, there is that. My son gets everything done for him.. you know. Have been thinking that was one of the awesome things about being a (young) kid. Knowing mommy and daddy pay the bills, clean the house, make your food... you just get to be... a kid. Play, have fun, be with friends, be outside. Just...have fun. No responsibilities. No WORRIES about the bills and all that.

And when I do those things people blame me for not being a productive member of our wonderful society.

I know, right. So not fair and a fine example of ageism. ;)

A kid's JOB is to play. :sunny:
