I worked in a hospital that had something strange in one of the rooms. It was a sink with a vanity around it. Inside the vanity was a toilet that could swivel out when the door is opened. I've tried finding this online and can't seem to see it anywhere. Suggestions?
Can't say that I've seen one of those, but it maybe specially made for the medical/hospital market. You may want to check into medical/hospital suppliers.
this is an antique, or possibly a reproduction of an antique. before indoor plumbing was common rich people, and presumably hospitals, had a piece of furnature called a comode. this is where the term comode comes from. i'm just old enough, and my perents were just old enough when i was born, for my parents to have grown up when such articles were still in fairly common use. in its most basic form, this article of furniture was simply a place, other then under the bed where it would stink up the room, to keep the "chamber pot". appearently what you've stumbled upon is one of the fancier varieties, made for the medical trade, and probably, like medical tecnology today, costing when new, ten times what a similar item would have sold to the home consumer market. the key word here is comode. i suspect if you google that one, you just might find the references you're looking for. or at least logicly you ought to. =^^= .../\...

Perhaps he's just not into Art Deco with the toilet displayed as a work of art or as a piece of furniture worthy of display. or is that vogue :H Hotwater
