Hi everyone, I'm working on a book about teenagers and depression/suicide. I'm a teen myself and I feel that the adults (counsillors, etc) just don't fully understand and if we want to do something about this, we need to do it ourselves. Thats why the book is being written. I'm looking for teenagers who would be willing to share their stories with me to put into the book (stories of why they're depressed, suicide attempts, etc). Poetry is also welcomed. I'm especially looking for stories from gay teens with depression. If you want to contribute, please email me at davyscuddlytoy@yahoo.co.nz Thanks! ~Moro (**Olivia**)
I'll ask my sister, won't get into her details unless she tells me I can but she might be interested. She's a bit older though, 21.
I agree for the most part. Best way to help ourselves is to help each other in my opinion. Peer support works better than adult counsellors, etc. I'm not sure about other countries and such, but here in Hong Kong, most secondary school students are required to go through a Peer Support program, where introduced to the best way to handle problems amongst each other and resolve conflicts in our own minds. After all, the first person you're gonna tell about your problem is probably going to be your friend and a reaction of any sort can lead to serious consequences (speaking from experience).
