bring them to Dogstock (Melvern, KS). www.dogstockfestival.com to see event info and lineup

Cheap fest, on private property (unlike wakarusa)

tix are 60 bucks a person with over 100 bands and 4 or 5 stages

Melvin Seals and the Jerry Garcia Band
    Leon Russell
    Banyan w/ Steve Kimock
Fareed Haque (guitarist of Garaj Mahal)
    JFJO (Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey)
    Bernie Worrell

to name a few. Check the lineup, they have some good classic rock and bluegrass bands. Jazz as well. I think this is a better fest for a family since its a little smaller and the crowd will be more suited for children (if thats possible for a fest). But you should definitely give it a look! Or come back to Waka if you enjoyed yourselves!

kimock and fareed? wow..they like to play together (and Fareed has been in a Banyan, too)

his kiddos are quite young: what do they have for children's tent stuff?

In a few months Parksville BC will be holding their annual International sand castle building competition. Kids always have tons of fun playing on our sandy - clean beach that is almost the size of Texas. There is a Website you could check out for a list of events. Cheers!
