I'm a country DJ at a community radio station (KDVS 90.3FM) and one of my fellow DJs is about to become a grandfather. So, I am looking for a song to dedicate to the new grandpa. Problem is that all the grandfather songs I know of (like Grandpa Was A Carpenter) are "Hurrah for grandpa" not "Hurrah for grandkid" I'm not picky about genre, country, bluegrass, folk, blues (they're the same anyway, pretty much, sort of) would be preferred, but anything with intelligible lyrics would be appreciated. As it stands, Tom Paxton's Little Brand New Baby is the closest that my brain can come up with. Any suggestions? Thanks.
neonspectraltoast, I've never heard that song, it sounds like another one where the arrow is pointing towards grandpa.
No...it's the one that goes "I wish that I knew what I know now when I was younger." It's kind of saying granddad is a wise old feller.
