Not enough people for them to claim to be the major parties.

Biden in California primary 3,207,687 votes

Trump in California primary 1,962,905 votes

2020 election 17,785,151 votes cast in CA

Polls aren't votes. Only a small minority picked these dudes to be candidates with actual votes.

 

Trump won with 32% of the vote.
Harris got 31%
While those who voted in 2020 , 37% sat out of the 2024 vote.
