...without them all dissolving and falling off? I feel another bleachy session approaching. I don't want another head of yellowy brown due to my being chicken shit about how long I leave the stuff in. So, to those of you who've bleached your dreads, what's the longest you've left it in? As I type this I'm trying to remember why I'm treating it differently to bleaching un-dreaded hair. Memory refreshment please... Is it just coz the rinsing time is so much longer that you have to include that in the leaving-in time?
when I bleached my dread the bleach actually dried up, I waited waaay longer than I should even fro normal hair
i wouldn't do it if your dreads are really matted ones because they will prolly suck it all up and be a bitch to wash out but I'm also really tired and prolly don't know what I'm talking about
i'd be scared to do three hours, maybe if you leave it on for two, put a cap of some sort over it (shower cap maybe) to keep it from drying out in the air???? its been a long time since i had dreads to bleach, but I was always scared to go longer than an hour.......
Yeh... I think the pack I used last said 45 minutes and I was so scared I jumped in the shower pretty much the second the time was up. Before dreading I usually left it about 1.5 hours, just to get past that yellow phase and into proper blonde.
Well I guess I'll probably go ahead and cautiously apply the "it's just hair" rule (which is the reason why I can hardly be bothered to answer any of the questions here anymore...)
Hehe, they're a slightly more faded and rootier version of my sig pic Gonna be a year old this month, so I'll take some more pics soon hopefully.
Would really like to see some significant growth. Before backcombing, my hair was down to my nipples, and then it went up to between jaw- and shoulder-length. It's still the same length despite nearly 4 inches of growth, so I'm guessing it shrank and grew at almost the same rate. Dammit. I would have such long hair now without dreads! lol
I used uber strength beard bleach in my dreads and it made the tips white which I was dead chuffed about, but for some reason it seems to migrate back to brown over time, I don't know if it's the way the dye fades or due to breakages or what, but it's weird.
I left it about 50 minutes then realized all he bleach was dry and some parts were bleachless so I poured some more on and left it for another hour I would not do that If I weren't me since I know how not smart that was
i also would have long hair if it wasnt for dreads, its grown by about 2 inches, but i dont think its any longer. and i also wanna see a recent amy pic! =]
