My watch has finally given up after 8.5 years of life. Thinking it needs a new battery. My missus says it should be a watch where it recharges based on movement.. Never heard so much bullshit in my life to be honest, anyone every heard of anything like this? What's the longest a watch batter has lasted you? Excluding wind ups. :2thumbsup:
no idea on the length of my two watches yet. one is for work cause its a construction environment, the other if I go out. They are 2 years old.. still going on the same battery. now they have watches that charge from sunlight. I don't know anyone that has one and i'm curious how well they work. I'm also assuming they are very expensive.
It sounds expensive. I had a cool Casio once where you could press a button and the screen turned into a map of the world and you could look at world times. I didn't wear it though because it was a guys watch I think. Still was cool for like 10+ years ago. I like the idea of solar recharge though, it makes sense.
I think so yeah. She said it winds up based on my wrist movements. Never heard of that before. If I wore it on my right wrist it'd be charged for life.
yup, automatic watches. used to be a traditional retirement present. i think i inherited one off my grandad, worth a fair bit. pretty much the standard for quality watches. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automatic_watch
I also don't have a watch,I use the clock on my cellphone. Most of the time I don't need to know what time it is anyway.I often leave my cellphone at home If I'm just popping out locally.
Self winding watch has an offset weight the shape of a large piece of pizza that spins in one direction on a ratchetting arm attached to a spring.
