Is it a repeat of last year? As I'm typing this, there is a serious alert of stabbings going on in Holland.. Here is a link for the latest London bridge now confirmed terrorist attack. London Bridge: Latest updates after stabbing attack - BBC News
Seems the terrorist was only recently released from prison after doing time for terrorist offences.. way to go British penal services again!
Photo from 2012 and the plot to bomb the LSE Usman on the left was the one knifing people on london bridge
While people are being stabbed to death, British police are painting/wrapping their law enforcement cars in LGBT themed color schemes. Wasting money and police resources. Police resources are NOT unlimited. Instead of spending money to virtue signal, why not spend it on protecting the community?
Apparently he was wearing an electronic monitoring device of some kind at the time of the attack, too?
Previous attack was two years ago, and involved a vehicle. You'll see those big bastard blocks in the news footage. That's to stop drivers getting on the pavement. The guy was at a course near one end of the bridge, for the rehabilitation of prisoners back into society. One of the two dead was running the course. A convicted murderer came out of that course to try and tackle the guy once it was realised what was happening.
Wow. So Usman Khan (the terrorist) was released from jail for serving only 6 years of a 24 year sentence for plotting terrorism with a group of his cohorts. He was released early, despite telling everyone that he thought England deserved his wrath of terror for not being Islamist. Why the hell wasn't he deported? Why was he released 6 years later? What makes you think that serving time in prison is going to make a terrorist change their mind about being a terrorist? Also 1 of the 3 heroes who subdued the terrorist was a murderer serving a life sentence for slitting the throat of a mentally disabled young woman in 2003, but he was out on the streets for a "Day Release." WTF is a day release? Why the hell was this guy out on the streets? If one of my friends or family members was the victims of ANY of these men, who should've been left in jail this entire time, I would be pissed. The UK is a failed society that's soft on crime.
You say that, but its murder rates and serious crime are still an order of magnitude less than what happens in the USA every day. Far less violent society.
The US has it's problems for sure. But we don't put prisoners back on the streets with "Day Release" Don't get me wrong, the US is a failing society. It'll fall after it happens to the UK.
The test is whether they are considered a threat to the general public, and in what way. They are tagged and not allowed to wander anywhere they like, For instance a battered wife kills her husband after decades of abuse. Is she a danger to anyone else, on the balance of probabilities? Questions are obviously being asked about the terrorist guy. Ultimately it comes down to whether you believe prison is punishment or an opportunity for rehabilation or a mix of both. Certainly not a sign of a failing society.
