https://phys.org/news/2019-07-characterizing-arrow-quantum.html For decades after Planck first discovered quantum mechanics, a popular topic at cocktail parties was how to design experiments to discourage practical jokers. Physicists watching movies and giving their subjective impressions is a rather unusual practice, and worthy of a foot note in itself. They are saying that the random behavior of quanta visibly increases when people watch them, imposing the familiar arrow of time. Of course, the idea that 42 is as good an explanation as anyone is ever going to get is anathema in the hallowed halls, but my own belief is this will soon change when neurologists measure laughter and discover it expresses the lowest possible energy state of the complete system. You could say laughter can be infectious, and they are about to prove it resembles the Big Bang, because genuine laughter is quantum mechanical and can be up to 125% efficient. Note the logical error in this study was assuming that they can categorize what is random, when random is merely a measure of our own ignorance. They are observing order emerging from chaos, and not questioning the validity of the order they perceive. Allan Watts compared it to God playing peek-a-boo, but studies like this can provide insight into the fuzzy logic involved. According to the neurological evidence, without logic, their subjective impressions would not be possible and vice versa.
