So I'm trying to figure out what to do...i want to travel and live all over the place, but I'm not sure which way i should approach it.

My friend and i are planning/hoping on doing something together, but we dont know if we should get a van and try to live out of it 4 awhile or what.

    Any suggestions?

I've done it, but only for a few weeks at a time. I have yet to be learn to be fully self-sufficient on the road.

I would look into a bicycle and a tent.

You get to see more and it costs less, both financially and environmentally.

I would advise you not to do this.

This is a recipe for disaster.

Meh, we all have to make our own choices.

    Good luck with that.

lot's of good ideas, i'll be looking into them. And I'm actually 19 lol, almost 20.......Tuktuk08, 08 was the year I graduated from HS.

The whole reason I'm thinkin of doing this anyway is because I started going to college out of state to major in International Rescue. Mainly because I wanted to travel. Turned out i was starting my travels the wrong way. I dont want to have to go to school for 4 years b4 i can begin, i just want to go, do my thing, and see the world.

Well my biggest concern is you getting stranded on the side of the road, with a broken van and no money.

Yes I have been that person. It is not fun.

It always takes more money than you think.

Cops are going to be the worst problem. Remember not all areas have free parking and if they find 4 people sleeping in it you will get a ticket or worse.

    Get a source of income.

I sold Jewelry and gave Psychic readings to people for money. Later I was a drug smuggler.

I am not trying to stomp on your dreams.

I would stay in school and during the summer I would apply and work at National Parks.

They are always hiring for the summer. Pick your area and then find a National Park close to it.

Once you have worked for one it will be easy to get jobs in almost any National Park.

In the Southwest they hire fire watchers in the forests. Pretty easy job.

Find a product and travel to flee markets and swap meets. That way you can travel and have a source of income. I know several people doing this. They sell all kind of things from food to homemade household cleaners.

I just hope you think this through.

    I do wish you well:)

I did it for 6 months while in my early twenties. I had some great experiences. First and foremost is what will you do for legal tender? We sold bracelets at concerts, Kentucky Derby, and Spring break in Panama City. Get that part figured out and the rest is easy and rewarding.
