Does anybody actually believe that the money from 'Live 8' is going to, in any way, help the African people, let alone reach the African people? It's all a sham, people! While I am sure people like Bono and Bob Geldof received their fair share of ego-gratification from the event, being the pretentious, egomaniacal "rock stars" they are, their role - whether knowingly or unknowingly - was one of utter dupes. Despite their pathetic attempts to display care and compassion, the G8 countries couldn't care less about helping Africa. That's because their intention is the keep Africa impoverished and enslaved. To have a healthy and functional Africa would work against the goals of the global-elite. Any show of compassion or concern from the Elite is nothing more than a display -- a charade. This must be understood. Don't be so easily sold on their hollow attempts to show concern. Don't believe all of the emptiness you see coming from the corporate media. The reason Africa is poor and starving is because it has been intentionally set up that way. The globalists control Africa, as they control every nation from behind the scenes. The fact is that money has been robbed from Africa by the power-elite and its major corporations for decades -- and it continues to. Do you think any of that money from 'Live 8' will reach the African people, let alone be of any aid to them? Not likely. It's all smoke and mirrors, people, and frankly, I couldn't help but laugh seeing all those braindead idiots parading around as if they were changing the world. I mean, how naive can you get? When I watched the few minutes of 'Live 8' that I saw on MTV, I couldn't help but see through the empty, hollow veneer of it all. Pathetic. I desperately hope people wake up and learn to see beyond the smoke screen, or else we are all doomed.
yeah i knew that crap was a sham, as i agree with most of the things you post about with the global elite and whatnot, but, rat, what sort of world would you like to live in? i know there's a lot thats screwed up now but what would you personally picture to be utopia?
live 8 was a free concert. there was no money given to charities from it. it was to raise awareness and put a lot of attention on africa which from all of the post about africa in here i can say it did.
al i heard was that record sales went up alot for the bands and all that extra profit was what was givin out. i dont know if its true but thats what i heard
OK. But aside from that, what I said still holds true, in my opinion. Bush's act of "debt forgiveness" was nothing more than a front to appease the masses. Debt forgiveness for the countries of Africa won't benefit the people one bit. Until people understand why Africa is the way it is, they're never going to make a change, and their efforts to do so will be worthless. Africa is always going to be like it is because those in control of Africa are seeing to it that it's kept that way. Any sign of effort otherwise is nothing more than a smoke screen.
america's taxpayers have given billions in aid to africa. most of it has gone to the warlords and dictators. we shouldnt give anymore money to them. let people donate if they want to screw
yes i do agree with that. all of that crap that they promised to do at the g8 isn't going to do anything to help the sick and starving people in africa.
most people that went to the live8 concerts dont care about africa they just wanted to see their favorite bands for free. But then there are those 4 or 5 people at every concert that may have went because they ca....wait why would someone say "hey, i went to a free concert, because i care about africa." Everyone went to the concerts for free live music. Peace, Malandoris
ok then pressed rat...are you doing anything to help things? I feel everyone at Live 8 (that is what youre saying, right? Live 8 was a sham?) that participated had good intentions all around of raising awareness...and I think they did. In Philly with Will Smith, if you caught him speaking to the crowd, it was really nice...He had some very relevant things to say. Not everything is a conspiracy guys and gals...some of us are actually out there to help others and DO care. Maybe you should have named the thread G8= A Joke would have been more accurate.
It doesn't really matter if Will Smith spoke to the crowd or not. Yes, they may have had good intentions, but that really isn't going to change anything that has already happened or will happen.
we need to buldoze the continent and build a 9 mile tall tower, move all the people who want "civilization" into it and everyone who wants to maintain their own culture and heritage can stay on the outside with free electricity with the unhunted animals.... of course since that won't work we could just turn the whole continent into a smoking crater like we're going to eventually anyway......
I'm not sure about anyone esle but the way you lot are going on is pretty sick.so your saying we shud't try and help! live 8 i think was a big help in getting people involed. I think in general people are taking a lot more interest these sort of things and if things like live 8 were not to happen it would be a great shame. now i don't really know much about poilatics ( i can hardly spell the word ) but i think it takes a sad person to attack something like live 8.
Oh i totally agree that it was a joke. When Geldof did the big thing years ago, that was different. I know some may mean well but they did it all wrong. I love the way these arrogant celebrities get up on stage and say we should be outraged (as Brad Pitt did) In their day to day lives, have they ever given a shit? Given money? Or are they just taking advantage of the spotlight?
just wondering if people on here think" if you were one of those poor people in africa "would you think live 8 was a joke? .their again your not standing in their shoes are you " sorry i will correct meself " most of them dont have shoes . joke " this world is one fucken big joke at the moment..........starvation "poverty" illness is certainly no joke.
Ok, heres the deal: The elites are screwing africa and won't be helping them out. The people who held the concerts to raise awareness and to press our officials towards real help for Africa is a sham. What, then, shall we do? Rat, you bitch alot, and that's fine, but what kind of solutions do you have? If you have none, kindly stop posting, because without solutions, your posts are meaningless rants. Personally, while I don't totally disagree with you, I do think that raising awareness and demanding change is good and at least somewhat effective. That many voices can't be ignored completely.
If they had asked for money, donations, then they would then have a tangible resourse to give to the poverty stricken in Africa. Relying on the "good nature" of pollies etc to "hope" they give something to help, is wishful thinking. In times like this, it's the average people who give more. Look at the tsunami for example. We Australians, raised over 10 million dollars in one night, more than any other nation. If asked, the people would help but live 8 was a concert. No more. They didn't do it the right way unfortunetely. Just because you raise awareness (even thought it was already obvious) doesn't mean the money will come rolling in from the wealthier countries. You have to ask for it.
