Got a question here. I see these commercials featuring women who live in anal retentively spotless homes. The bathroom is disinfectantly sterile enough to perform surgery there, yet the tub has rust stains. How does THAT happen?

My house is scary. I HATE housework. I'd love an anally retentive housekeeper, though, but I can't do it myself. There is always something better to do than to clean something I JUST cleaned yesterday.

The entire thing is ENTROPY. No matter how hard you work, it is a MESS tomorrow! I can't keep up, with a 10 room house, 4 kids, their friends, a dh, a dog, bunny, other pets, my business in my house, a huge garden ect. I can't keep up. I'd LOVE It clean, but it just isn't practical.

My MIL has one of those hermetically sealed homes. It is scary. My dh didn't see a dust bunny until we moved in together.
Him: "AUGHGHGHGH! what is that thing?"
Me: "It's a dust bunny, it's good for you."

maybe the over-use of lime away causes rust?

No, Lime Away is supposed to get rid of rust. But it only works on NEW rust. If it starts to eat into the porcelian or the metal, you are screwed.

(I missed the entire point of this thread. That womyn who have other wise spotless homes have these grungy tubs. LOL. Oh, Gid, I need some sleep.)

if you ask me, a tub that rusts is about as effective as a waterproof towel. shit should just stay clean on its own, but they don't make it that way because the cleaning product manufacturers wouldn't make any money. it's like how they don't make lightbulbs that last forever (it is possible) so you have to keep buying more. yeah man...
