has anyone read this book? i read zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, and i was thinking of picking this one up. i'd like to know anyone's oppinion of it first
I love it. I think I have read this one more times than I have read Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Pirsig outlines his "Metaphysics of Quality" as a further elaboration of the theme of Quality started in his first book. He brings his philosophy to life by clearly explaining how he understands quality to be the basis of reality. He then shows how it works within the disciplines of anthropology, psychology, history, sociology, the scientific method, and evolutionary biology, as well as sexuality, relationships, and the age old questions of morality. I can't say enough about Robert Pirsig's influence on my understanding of, well, everything.
