whats the purpose for lights over top of a plant does it create heat for the plant or is it jus to give the plant light? And also after i plant the seed in soil how far should i put a 75 watt from the seed planted in the soil or are you even supose to put the light rite on the seed in the soil rite after planting? if any of these questions could be awnserd it would be helpfull thnks
The light is there to give the plant light and act like the sun. There is no point of putting a 75W light on when it is a seed and underground because even if it was on, it would be a waste of electricity and wouldnt help the seed germinate. I am also not sure if 75w is strong enough, for my plants I have a 500W light on them for 18 hours a day. If you want more growing information go to www.overgrow.com or search on google, "how to grow weed". P.S here is a nice link I just found about lighting http://weedfarmer.com/growing_guide/light.php hope that helps
so the plant doesnt need the light bulb for heat? What light would be better? This light bulb is pretty hot 65watts http://www.homedepot.com/cmc_upload/HDUS/EN_US/asset/images/eplus/046677225353_3.jpg As bright as 100 watt but only 15 watts not hot http://www.abcbulbs.com/pics/SL.JPG I can also add more light bulbs of each kind i just have to find out what is better
You will need a hps to successfully grow marijuana.25-50 watts per sqft veg and 50+ for flower. No 65 watt bulb will get you beyond germ and and first couple weeks veg before low light levels begin to take its toll in the way off major internodal stretching, lessened foliage production ,and little or no flower productivity..Plants use light for photosynthesis to manufacture chlorophyll and starches and has 0 to do with heat.I suggest you read a grow book and get started in the right direction as you are looking in the wrong at this time.
