Ok so my roommate somehow dropped a lighter in my bong the other day while i was at class. Its in the very bottom where the water is and i don't think im gonna be able to get it out. So i was wondering do you guys think there would be any health concerns with smoking out of it?? I know there's butane in lighters but since its just in the water and it is not coming into direct contact with a flame I didnt know if it would really make a difference.

Thanks in advance for all the answers

I don't understand how you can't get it out. You can take the bong apart, can't you? Anyway, I'd get it out somehow. Don't smoke with it in there.

Well... It could, possibly, blow your fucking face off... Which COULD be a health concern.

Why don't you just get it out? Wether you have ice pinches, or whatever, if it can go in, it can come out. What, are you afraid of having to replace your nasty ass bong water?

Turn the bong over so it's upside down. The lighter will come out with the water. If it doesn't come out, shake the bong.

If it won't come out, break the bong over your roommates head and make him buy you a new one. And keep his lighter too.

You guys don't really get it. I can't take it apart its full blown class theres no coming apart its all one piece. And it won't come out when i turn it over because the glass piece that holds the stem keeps the lighter from lining up with the shaft to fall back through. Trust me I'm not stupid its just not gonna come out. So could someone just tell me if they think it would be a problem to just leave it in there.

And the lighter won't blow up it doesn't come in contact with a flame.

Surely you can remove the stem so that it won't be in the way anymore. The rest of the bong might be one solid piece, but that likely isn't.

    its not that unreasonable

isn't that one of the purposes of interactive forums...to be able to ask questions to people who may have answers to questions that people in your "real life" don't know

it's a funny thread, but shit man, no need for the elitist mindset

hell one of my first threads on HF back in the day was me freaking out thinking id scratched my bowl with a pipe cleaner too hard (while cleaning it) and caused the colors to run....stupid, but yes, i had a lot of support from people...good OLE times

As someone said, if it got in there, it can come out. It might just take a bit of thought and patience.

If it does not come out after a few days of trying I would not hesitate to tell your friend to buy you a new bong. If he is that put out he can buy you a new one and have the one with the lighter in it.

Try getting it out first, but I don't think you're going to hurt yourself by smoking with it in there.
It could actually look like a cool decoration.

Post a picture of the bong so we can have a better idea of why it's not coming out.

I would not smoke with the lighter in the bong. That's stupid. Just roll some spliffs until if and when you get the lighter out.

    Yes, a picture will help!

edit- I wouldn't so much be worried about the lighter exploding, the temperatures wouldn't likely get hot enough fast enough to do that, but if heat was a problem, it would end up slowly melting through, still letting out butane gas. Melting plastic and butane aren't exactly great for you. Not to mention, ugh, you have to eventually clean the bong, and that lighter will just add a whole new degree of difficulty. Imagine how nasty that could get.

have you tried breaking the bong over your friends head to get the lighter out and then threatening to shank him with one of the broken shards of bong.. leaving him with the option to buy you a new bong or get stuck like a pig?
